Thread: [Release] Untextured Maps (including High Haven + new maps!)

    Default [Release] New & Fixed Untextured Maps (including High Haven!)

    These maps will increase your FPS and aim (since opponents stand out more).

    Notes:
    • Previous Untextured maps were released but most were buggy and High Haven was not included.
    • Avoid posting screenshots with your character name on it (blur / crop your name out, since these maps are potentially ban-able)
    • Please report any bugs you encounter with these files, I will fix them asap


    Notice! The untextured map files may not be suitable for the following people:
    1. Players who are used to having Light Map off (turning it on makes maps darker)
    2. Players who lag with Light Map on (you have to have this option on for these maps)

    Instructions:
    • Replace these Map files with the ones in the folder ijji\English\Gunz\Maps
    • Make sure 'Lightmap' is ON
    • For better performance use archetype/sols config with these maps

    Download:
    Releases will be all the maps compressed into an archive. They are the 'milestones'. The decimal points are 'updates' and you will only download the map(s) that have been fixed (also it wont be compressed into an archive)

    Release 3.0 (Latest Release)
    • All Recent Updates included
    • Numerous Light fixes
    • Opaque objects fix
    • Deleted some effects for performance

    Other Downloads:

    Normal Maps Lite
    A lot of useless effects removed to improve performance, various vision hindering objects removed (such as the clothes on the clotheline at town) - lighter version of each map. Place these map files in the folder ijji\English\Gunz\Maps.

    Untextured Quest Maps
    Untextured versions of Quest Maps. Place these files in the folder ijji\English\Gunz\Quest\Maps and replace with existing files.

    No Smoke Grenades
    Removes the blinding smoke from Smoke Grenades. Place the 'sfx.mrs' in the folder ijji\English\Gunz and replace existing file.

    Classic Launcher Update fix
    If you use the classic launcher then the Gunz updater will try and 'update' the files, to stop this download this file and place it where the gunzlauncher.exe is. This does not apply to Reactor users.

    Update 2.2
    • Removed Smoke effect in Factory

    Update 2.1
    • Shower_Room light fix

    Release 2.0
    • Fixed Garden & Mansion lighting
    • Fixed Garden gates (they were opaque instead of transparent)
    • Removed water from every map (better fps and visibility)
    • Removed clothesline in Town (for better visibility)
    • Removed some fire effects which lowered fps

    Release 1.0
    • High Haven added (untexturised)
    • Factory's blinding truck light fix

    Todo:
    • Remove the Smoke effect in Factory map to increase fps
    • Untexturise Quest maps (and decrypt if needs be)
    • Decrypt Update3.mrs for Citadel map (If anyone can help me out it would be great)
    • Add new Screenshots of every map

    FAQ:
    • Can you get banned for using these maps?
    Short Answer: No | Long Answer: To get banned for using these maps someone would have to report you to gunzhacker@ijji.com (or whatever the email is) with evidence that you use them. The only evidence people can use is if you screenshotted yourself playing using these maps and forgot to blur your name out of the picture. Then and ONLY then it's possible to get banned. I don't know anyone that's been banned for using these maps, and there is no way of finding out if you use them UNLESS you're dumb enough to post an ss with your name on it. End of.
    • Why use these instead of Archetype/Sols config?
    Archetype/Sols config only reduces the texture quality. These maps have had their textures completely stripped off them. Benefits are: Better Aim (since enemies stand out more), Better FPS (a lot of effects have been deleted). You can also use these maps WITH Archetype/Sols config and it will improve the performance further.

    Yeah, it was released before but there was some buggy maps and High Haven wasn't untextured. I'm attempting to untexture the new maps and fix old ones atm

    It seems High Haven doesn't have any XML info (that's supposed to hold the info about where the textures are placed on what coordinates etc) compared to other maps.. i'm certain that is why it isn't working so... I may have to build High Haven from scratch or something (unless someone can help me out and tell me the coordinates for the textures / objects)

    That's my theory anyway.

    can u make the water different then the old ones and add a little light cuz mid of garden is dark make it so low texture and ez to see popele they stand out something like that cuz i can hardly play gunz at 40-70 fps and if i hit atleast 120 i can probably be a monster so i hope this helps once everything is fixed ^^.

    Sorry, went on holiday for a while ^^ I'm back now, I'll start fixing the problems.

    So, so far:

    Mansion, Blinding Light
    Garden, Too Dark

    On it.

    Edit1:

    Fixed the water (I've actually just removed the water, so instead of water it's just empty ground)

    I will be releasing a Version 2.0 of the maps when they're fixed

    I will try them when you fix the garden / mansion problems. The no water sounds completely awesome on island, because I have quite a hard time running gunz even with sols. Can't wait, thumbs up!

    Yeah its map hacking which is bannable, but they have no way of finding out unless you screenshot your character using hacked maps (Even then you can probably get away with it since it looks similar to archetype ). You can avoid that problem though by blurring out your name in screenshots. Problem solved :P

    Doesn't look that bad, but I won't try it if their that dark. My pc is so bad and the color quality is absolutely **** so it would be like a lot darker then those. Need sols with those maps or better, would it work?

    yeah sols works (and makes it even better)

    And they're the same brightness as the standard maps

    It's not the same, Archetype reduces texture quality, these maps have their textures completely stripped off them. Also, i removed a lot of 'effects' in the maps so you should get a better fps boost.

    You can also use Archetype WITH these maps for superior performance, also because there is no texture on the maps the enemies stand out more (so it improves your aim)

    Since my computer isn't so good and i get high fps lag in some maps, I'll try them... But I have a question: do they work in GunZ Pservers? Like for example, Euro GunZ? Because when I'm in mansion, there are some places which I start to fps with no reason.
