    Um I would suggest like the option to make it like a CS type of mode were no K-Style or D-Style is required for all those that want that type of feel. They can still keep style and the likes and improve on it as they have suppossidlly stated. Make a better targeting system have the game in lower resolution for lower end computers to run. Obviouslly try and reduce lag. Fix some glitches if any. Make different hairstyles for the chars and such so like a customizable type of feature when creating your char.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    They will loose players this way and plus not everyone is lower than 150 ping so yea. Maybe an auto kick feature but that'll still tic people of so I say leave as is.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Fix lag because lag=biggest problem. Dont change k-style significantly..

    Like everyone said, don't remove K-Style.
    More weapons, modes, character customization & stuff.
    Remove prem meds.

    Fix the high ping problam, cuz leading sucks. Lag is the most anoying thing.
    It could be something like on CS, someone who lags still loses HP when hit.
    Lag should be disadvantage, unlike it is now.

    Should be a camp timer so if you stay in one spot for a certain amount of time you automatically suicide.

    This seems highly impractical. I mean, since ping works both ways, which player would get disconnected?

    There will be no ping system for anyone who actually read up on Gunz 2.

    Obviously the biggest complaint with Gunz 2 will be if you make k-style newb friendly. I think I speak for everyone when I say do not change anything about the K-Style key system. I don't even think it should be changed or messed with, without the needing to lead you'll see Gunz balance itself out with the weapons, just add more and take away the premium meds.

    Game play - Leave it alone, there is nothing wrong with the way gunz works.

    Items - Add more unique looks and remove useless items like low damage single pistols/revolvers.

    Events - Add more tournaments with actual prizes to promote Gunz 2 to spread it out into the mainstream more.

    Maybe remove and change a few things, Make feet a little harder to hit by shortening the hit box. Remove random massives by parrying an attack and instead actually have to charge one to use one.

    Make Gunz less vulnerable to hacks so people do not constantly run around with aimbots and godmode. Other then that I honestly think Gunz is fine the way it is, Just add a few touch ups.

    Maiet already posted somewhere that K-Style would stay...also, ping won't be an issue, since it will be server sided, so no more leading. Hurray.

    The only thing I want in Gunz 2 would be the Giant 2-handed Swords.
    They could have been easily added into Gunz 1 since the models of the swords as well as the movements are already done. They would be a very nice addition to the game giving players more options of what to play with.

    I agree with all of that but the single weapons, i love using single SMG's and it doesnt hurt to have them in the game.

    I will tell you everything you should of included in GunZ The Duel that you never did, and why.

    1) It is imperative that you add an option to turn on or off health/armor/ammo pick ups.

    -Maps that are never played because of them will be now be played more frequently, such as Castle, Garden, and much more.
    -People will have to manage their ammo or they'll be stuck with a melee weapon only. This will also put more emphasis on using your melee weapon.
    -This emphasizes on ammo kits being important, thus rendering them useful. Also balances out the medkits in certain maps.
    -This will also fix the problem of "camping", since people will not be able to stay in one place if resources spawn elsewhere. Forces players to move and beat their opponents to the punch.

    2) If you are going to add a Friendly Fire system, elaborate on it. Personally, I would like to see this feature.

    -Add an option so that you are booted from the game if you reach negative X score
    -Friendly Fire puts emphasis on teamwork. This will force players to adapt and play strategically depending on the situations. For example, one player might be up front and attempt to melee an opponent while others take aim and shoot, or sneak around to backstab the other team, etc.
    -If this option is on, it fixes the problems of weapon spamming, ganking a single player without worry, and many more issues. It could also add an entirely new experience for clan wars, since clans usually have better teamwork.

    3) If there's going to be a flip or lunge option with your melee weapons, it should be modified.

    -You should be able to save yourself somehow, such as being able to press the "hang" button to stab a nearby wall. This would render the move less of an instant kill.

    4) You should not be allowed to equip two of the same category of weapons. Let's not hide it, this is one of the factors killing the game. Nobody uses machine guns and weapons that require you to hold down the button, because it's not as efficient as a weapon that shoots instantly for massive damage, especially when you can fire 10 shots of a shotgun/revolver faster than an MG/Rifle/SMG. Let me give you an example.

    Breaker 8 (9 damage x 12 pellets = 108 damage potential per shot)
    Breaker 7 (8 damage x 12 pellets = 96 damage potential per shot)

    108 damage x 5 shots = 540 damage potential
    96 damage x 5 shots = 480 damage potential
    540 + 480 = 1020 damage potential for 10 instant shots that allow you to move.

    Nico MG-KX (18 damage per bullet x 120 bullets = 2160 )
    You cannot move efficiently when using a machine gun, as well as losing the ability to wall run and a speed decrease in the MG's case. You also need to "channel" all the bullets.

    If you look at how the game was originally intended to play, there's nothing wrong. But when all the styles became popular and the game took a 360 degree turn in the opposite direction, it did. The game was never made for what the game is today, and was never altered or changed to balance it out. Why have weapons that nobody use?

    It's the same deal with melee weapons. Why have daggers when swords can move just as fast, inflict twice the damage while attacking just as fast, block bullets and the chance of a massive right away upon a successful melee block and the ability to flip which is superior to lunge? The game has grown out of proportions because you didn't stop it.

    You have numerous ways to deal with two weapons of the same type. Here's a few suggestions:

    -Introduce a "primary/secondary" weapon system and allow players to carry one of each.
    -Balance the weapons to have disadvantages and advantages, such as a speed decrease for heavy, powerful weapons along with heavy weight or low weight, low damage, faster speed or increase rate of fire.
    -Allow weapons of the same types but not of the same category (Breaker/Avenger but not Breaker/Breaker and Avenger/Avenger)

    5) A feature that allows you to turn on or off monsters/NPCs in Death Matches and Team Death Matches. Yes, this sound weird, but GunZ would be a good game for things like these. There's already pits and flying all over the place (I assume the flying all over the place part isn't going to be removed in GunZ 2) so having more interaction between the players and the environment would be a good feature in my opinion. Traps or hazards in certain maps, such as falling rocks in Island or cars driving over you in Town. NPCs that are hostile to every team/every one like beasts in the Battle Arena or Prisoners in Prison, etc.
    It brings a whole new dimension to fighting, because there's other things to worry about.
    Perhaps they could also drop bounty or bounty items from time to time, adding more of that fun RPG element.

    6) Add a wider variety of weapons and Armor. Don't be afraid. Be creative. A ring that damages your health but makes your skin hard as rock, giving you more protection. A set of clothes that makes your body invisible but removes your crosshair and provides no protection. Miscellaneous items that changes your appearance. Enia/Winscar/Giston/Canopus coins for your guns that have a x% chance to trigger and fire a blazing/poisoned/shocking/icy bullet. Smoke and Flash grenades that actually work to some degree, as well as other types of grenades, perhaps a grenade that encase someone in ice for 10 seconds, rendering him immune but useless while you kill the other. Heck, the possibilities are endless.
    What's important though is that everything needs to be balanced.

    7) Talking about balance... never, never, never, never sacrifice balance for profit/money. Premium medkits and the ijji situation is a perfect example of this. NEVER NEVER NEVER should a game become unbalanced because someone cannot afford premiums. Premiums should offer a small, small edge, but not anything extreme like premium meds. You're better off making a good game that everybody can play while offering paid services (paid name change, paid clan name change, aesthetic items like more hair styles or skin colors or whatever) than making a game that sucks because you need to pay for overpowered items.
    That way everyone is happy, more players are playing your game and everything is smooth.

    8) I'm not the first who recommended this, but seriously, kick players that are idle in the lobby/not in a game. It doesn't make sense to allow Away from keyboard players to stay in while people who want to play cannot enter.

    9) A better auto balance system. The player who gets switched should be chosen randomly so that it's not always the highest kill ratio guy who gets swapped every time. Also, people in the same clan on the same team should not be switched unless there's no choice, because people in clans are usually buddies and they'll just switch back.

    10)Better fleshed out modes and more modes.

    For example, why should Team Deathmatch be limited to only 2 teams? You could go as far as 4 teams battling it out.

    I think I also speak for a lot of people when I say that a Attack and Defend mode would be greatly appreciated.

    One team attacks the other team's base, the other team defends. Repeat after each round.
    If a defending player leaves his area, he is killed or warped back to his base. Once an attacker is inside the defending team's base. he can no longer exit. This is to prevent abuse from people running in and out and going to heal elsewhere. A timer should also be added so that the attacking team must do something or they'll lose. Anti-Camping measures. A DM version of this could also be possible, although it'd be more of a "Capture the hill" scenario than anything else.

    "Seek the Target" could also be an interesting concept. A mixture of "Beserker" and "Assassination" where one player is the target and people must kill him. However, unlike Beserker, he cannot defend himself, so he has to run and evade while everybody is trying to kill him - or each other - to get him. A TDM version is also possible where everybody is on the same team and focus on the Target and cannot kill each other. The guy with the most Target kills and the longest survival time as a target would win. Or there could be two winners. Of course, the Target should have some sort of speed bonus or a lot of health.
    Should also have a time limit so it doesn't stall and never ends.

    A mixture of Quest and Death Match could also be possible. You have two sides, or factions. Players on X team join Y faction, players on V team joins B faction. Each faction has a boss and waves of NPCs attacking each other as well as players, goal is to either kill the enemy boss or to destroy their citadel or artifact or whatever.

    Once again the possibilities are endless.

    11)Add an ignore function and a report function. This way, we can report abuse when we see it and we can ignore spam or abusive messages. A better filter system for swearing would be nice as well.

    12) Improve on the replay function if there's one. Add a button to show/hide the names above players' head, the option to stop, rewind, play or fast forward while watching it and make replays compatible with previous versions. I know you couldn't watch old replays from a previous version at one point in time. Should someone exit the game room or the game itself without hitting the button "End replay", add a feature that does it automatically. Many a great replays have been lost because of players being kicked, disconnected, or who forget to push that button.

    Can't think of anything else at the moment. Will post again if I do. Hope these suggestions will really be considered (the good ones) so that GunZ 2 will hopefully not suffer the same fate as his poor little dead brother.

    Make bounty items that are high levels and cost alot of bounty so u cant just buy everything in the shop, its more fun when u have to save up for things unlike gunz 1 where bounty doesnt reli matter at all the items may as well be free.

    Awesome thread. Thanks citizen. I hope maiet will bother to read some of these.

    Overall, i think you need to keep it much the same. Lets face it, we want to have the k-style around and we want to shoot with the 2 breakers. It does not mean you cant change anything, but it does mean it needs to have somewhat same gameplay. Its not going to be the new counter strike anyway. I think you can't make it as you originally intended gunz the duel to be. It just needs to be the follow up. No one really wants the game as vonterul said ;/

    Its pretty hard to give these suggestions, as you haven't given us any info about it. I dont know if you are allowed to say anything, but if you can, you should publish something about it.

    About developing and versions
    • Please have somekind of large beta testing, hopefully also with players who have played the first version of gunz the duel.
    • Closed or open beta testing, maybe alpha testing. Just to see what people think about it.
    • Hopefully we will still get globally published version, like ijji was. Easier for both you and us players.
    • Give us some info about the whole thing. Something like small announces when it will be released.


    About the game

    Gameplay
    • Keep k-style as much as you can. Technically, keep all the animation canceling methods (switch cancelling, block cancelling, reload canceling and slash cancelling) as same. Hopefully including all things like: reload shot, slashot, half step, half half step, single-, double-, and also triple butterly. Insta fall and jugle.
    • As i hope network code would change pretty much, k-style gameplay may change pretty much too. To rebalance, i think you could add even more hp / ap, so it wont be to much of just potshoot. Not much though, just make it ok balanced.
    • Currently its pretty annoying to enter ijji gunz. You have to go to webpage, login, watch adds, launch the activex which will launch preinstaller, which will launch the launcher, and then you can press start the game. After that you need to watch the maiet sign for 10 seconds, to choose character.
      Personally i liked the i gunz login more, you just enter the account and password 1 time. What about displaying all maiet texts, when loading, before selecting character.. I do know it is the game hosters choice for some part, but anyway faster access to game.
    • Keep the things like after slashing, theres small animation which you cant escape. It's what makes the sword balanced and the gameplay nice.
    • Cw system hopefully bit different. Maybe like 10 total rounds. even draws count, so the game would end in 6-0. or 5-5 or 1-0 if the teams camp rest 9 rounds for draw. If networking system works, running won't be a problem.
    • Spectating in game. Needed function to host tournaments or other games!
    • Able to disable hp spawns and ammo spawns if you want to.
    • Some more gamemodes, like sword duel.

    Graphics User Interface (gui)
    • Customizable. Able to move and place eg. hp bar and where you display currently used gun / sword. Able to select font size and maybe type.

    Network things
    • I dont exactly know how you are doing the network code, but make it good :).
    • hopefully fixes whole hitregisteration.
    • the problem here is, if its server sided, someone needs to actually host the games. If it is, hopefully nothing stupid like if the host leaves, the game dies.

    Settings (options) / Graphics
    • PLEASE include support for all common monitor resolutions and aspect ratios. Like 16:9 aspect such as 1920x1080. 16:10 resolutions such as 1920x1200.
    • Keep the extremely bad texture settings for all us previous ijji players. I mean the single colored walls, which are often referred as "archetypes, or sols config"
    • Less problems with high fps causing things like sliding. You could make fpslimiter, which could be configured like in other games.
    • Keep config for easy settings.
    • In game options to display fps, and something like network details.

    Replays
    • First of PLEASE include
    • Hopefully no problems with silent / not existing shots. (i mean if you do reload shot it wont display the shots after reloading).
    • Skipping. Skip to round start, or just selecting place in midle of the replay.
    • If it feels too hard to do keyframes, atleast quick play and quick rewind. (Like in warcraft 3)
    • Somekind of ui for those skippings.
    • Small indicator that replay is being taken.
    • Maybe able to watch replays from gunz 1. It will make the changing easier.

    Lobby, storage and shop
    • A bit more advanced overall. I dont know if you are going to keep the channel system?, but if you do, please think about it carefully. I think there could be less channels and more advanced kind of system to browse trough rooms. Atleast like more users on channel, or something totally different like searching trough them. Channel chat is quite nice, hopefully you will keep it.
    • Renewed inventory / storage and shop. I think the weapons should be categorized. (maybe tree form with the +/- signs) Browsing them currently is pain becouse of the ammount of them.
    • No more of these swearing filters. Heck you cant even say /whisper me. People are gona curse, like say the f-word without the c. Let it be ; )

    Maps
    • Less camping places. Technically every place, where theres only single direction to come from, is camping place.
    • Hopefully we will get some more detailed maps.
    • Bigger, characters moving in blazing speeds like in gunz, we need pretty big maps. Currently it takes around 7 seconds from rounds start to full fight, it could be atleast like double for that.
    • Still somewhat okey for k-style. I mean we have to be able to jump from the walls or we wont like it.
    • You could include some classic maps, like town / mansion. Or remake it / them.

    BUT AS STATED by me (sory for caps) give a mode were it has the original way GunZ was intended to have with no K-Style etc so those gamer fans of CS for example can be happy and stilly be satisfide with broadining there gaming style it'll make for some alternative FPS "fun" for some.!!!!!!!!!!


    Other than that take some serious suggestions from the others which I myself may have over looked/not read.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I strongly suggest that if maeit is gonna make some major improvements to gunz i hope they dont make any improvements to k-style and keep it exactly the same like it is right now...for some reason i feel like theyre going to mess it up becaause in the FAQ when it is asked is k-style is going to be kept they said yes but they were gonna change it like so you probably dont have to press so many keys at the same time.

    1. Keep the gameplay the same, there's nothing wrong with it.
    2. Don't run GunZ on a P2P system, leading is a pain in the ass.
    3. More events, besides tournaments.

    Less lag.
    More maps.
    Someone with a lot of Gunz experience should adjust the weapons for balance.
    Everyone shouldn't be afraid to use weapons other than the shotgun.
    Make premium meds disappear.
    Many other suggestions I can't think of right now.
