| Member | Okay, so here's the laydown. I am dealing with an interesting Wireless spike here. Now I do run windows Vista, and I know my statistics and hardware can run it just fine, I've done it with Ethernet/ Via DSL and Cable both before without problems. However, I am forced to use wireless here, and there's nothing I can change about that. So a solution for this random spike is needed. Now I've seen through some of the other threads on this forum and some other forums to see what I could use.. I've found the "autotune" command line, and have turned that off. I also have that nifty little WLAN addon Optimizer for Windows Vista because that's what I run. I have already set the game for "Compatiblity with Windows XP service pack 2" and have some some service editing. I've been looking to exterminate this for quite some time, because simply put it's annoying >> Now another thread in this Forum, also said something about using a command line to ping google.com -t to track the pings. Now that shows a normal ping, per ping, but once every.. I dunno, 10-20 pings, I see a HUGE spike ping. Like something that goes from the norm of 40 - 60 range to 600 -1400 ms range. Quite odd to have a random spike like that. Now for those who might jump down my throat and say it's Vista, EHHHH WRONG. Happened on XP as well. So.. I use a router of course, and have portforwarded GunZ as well as set up the initial IPv4 settings with static IP and DNS servers, default server etc.. I use a Linksys router.. I cannot remember the style or w/e.. but, yea I think that covers everything.. If there's anything I missed please get back to me, ASAP, I'd like to get back to pwning like normal. ;D |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | After all that, i think you just have to admit defeat. I blame my microwave. I always spike more when somone uses it. (Router is on top of the fridge). So, search out that microwaves and unplug um! xD Good work anyway, youve done loads. |
