| Gunzfactorian Postcount God | Lol. I did the most drastic diet once. It made me regain weight after I dropped it, but not as much as I was before. 0 carb diet. Horrible for you. Works wonders. Had no choice, I'm not allowed to exercise alot cause of my arthrosis'd hip. Except pools. |

| Gunzfactorian | Eating very little doesn't help... just causes malnutrition and eventually your body eating its muscles. Eat atleast 5 semi small meals a day which will speed up your metabolism. example) Breakfast - bowl of oatmeal + fruit + protein drink Snack - another piece of fruit or vegetable + milk or water Lunch - Lean fat meat like Turkey sandwhich or something + more fruit/vegetables + protein drink Snack - more fruit/vegetables and water/milk Dinner - something similar to lunch Then you can have a desert if you want, like a protein shake or something Get berries, high in immediate energy and speeds up metabolism. Work out in between those meals like quick 5 min sprint rest 10 minute jog rest and another 5 minute down. Running for long periods of time can actually stop your metabolism and still eat away at your muscle, so stop playing ddr so long its not good for you. Search up anaerobic and follow those kinds of workouts, short but intense and effective. Get dumbells and doing push-ups in good slow form every day and you will not only lose weight but gain muscle in return. Also look up 10 pounds 3 day diet i guess, friend used it when i stayed with him, its not really a diet but a chemical breakdown. You can only do it like once every 2 weeks because its not safe to keep doing it over and over. Nasty food too btw. Also you don't need a gym membership its a waste of money. You can do anything in a gym at home, bodyweight workouts are better then weighted just do stretches quick interval exercises and bodyweight+ dumbell workouts and you'll lose a lot of weight quick. | Gunzfactorian Patriot | I'm 6ft 4 and weigh 223pounds I started going to gym a month ago, i have a 5 month contract @ £28.79 ($57.58) a month, so it makes me go to the gym because if i don't then i'm just wasting money. I'm mainly going for losing weight and building muscle mass and so far so good. I also recently bought a protein shake for £11 ($22) and that has motivated me to go to the gym aswell. this is my routine at the moment: Monday: 40 mins cardio + legs + shoulders Tuesday: rest Wednesday: 40 mins cardio + Back + Biceps Thursday: rest + biceps at home Friday: Chest + Triceps Saturday: 60-70 mins cardio Sunday: rest + Forearms at home I build muscle easy and i gain fat easy. The muscle will make me heavier, but i don't use scales because i don't care about weight much, i'm trying to appear more muscley and less fat. I am getting results already and i'm a month in, about a month ago all you would see is arms with flab hanging off them, now i can flex my arms and see definition but i'm not just working my arms. I suggest for you to lift weights too because not only does muscle make you look better and makes you healthier (also prevents osteoporosis a bone disease later on in life) but it is also able to speed up your matabolism by 10-15%. Also about each pound of muscle burns around 50 calories a day just by resting. Last edited by Fail9000; 07-08-2008 at 08:30 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian Veteran Hero | I'm still trying to figure out my weight goes up and down like crazy. I'm about 6ft myself and I weigh around 130. Honest to god it's strange. I'll be 127 one minute then 5 minutes later I'll be 130...not doing anything...It goes back and forth like this forever. Anywho, excercising by walking for awhile or just moving around a lot helps. Try to just take long walks as a start and then start doing jogs the more you do it. Or just try playing a sport..not actual but a get together with friends or something..football..basketball..anything involving movements. Don't know about eating habbits..I eat a lot of anything really..it's weird. I'm waiting for my metabolism to take a huge ****. |

You should consult a parent, doctor, or PE teacher at your school. Getting tips over the internet while can be good, can also be 'bad' or at least not right for you. Heck, my brother eats fast-food all day every day, yet stays fit. I eat about 3500+ calories a day, 6'1, 210 pounds. And again, increase how much you exercise, because what you mentioned is pretty... low.

| Gunzfactorian | Hmmm, eat a little more. Eating less definitely makes you lose weight, BUT, it also gets rid of muscles, etc. You also can't lose weight just by eating salad. My dad tried to lose weight by only eating salad and fruit. It didn't help. Not eating meat won't make you lose any weight. You still need to follow the food pyramid. Anyways, here's a tip. Carbs=GOOD. My sister told me that you shouldn't have TOO MUCH carbs, but carbs can help you lose weight, because if you exercise, the carbs give you a boost for burning calories, so carbs help you burn calories faster. I also went to a site with weight-loss advice. One obese person lost 80 pounds and he said "You can't expect to lose weight by doing daily exercise for an hour or so. It matters for what you do for the rest of the day." What he means is you won't go anywhere if you exercise alot, but later on the day, you go chug down some soda and scarf down chips. |

| Gunzfactorian Commando | This is what I reccomend Jog for about 2-3 hours every day. DDR won't help Jogging 5 miles a day will definately burn off fat etc quite quickly Don't go to the gym and lift weights and all that, it will only add muscle, and muscle means weight. I'm 15 176lbs 5'9 (im in my avatar with gf) I'm very fit, I jog 4 miles a day so yeah. ;-) I also go to the gym quite a bit with my friends, all I can really reccomend is jogging, and dieting well. MAKE SURE YOU ONLY DRINK WATER..... ![]() soda and **** will **** it up for you lol but then again I drink whatever I want, eat whatever because I'm in shape and well I usually never gain weight by fat I think last time I checked my body is only like 7% body fat |

Well, i guess exercise is essential but you said you do alot of DDr which is great because you enjoy it and you burn alot of calories, eat a balanced diet, you can't seriously stick to that diet consistently... Eat a range of food but make sure that they are low in saturated fat. Buy a weight watchers food booklet and it will show you hundreds of different meals you can prepare yoursel feasily with minimal calories to suit you, i also encourage you to go to public weight loss groups such as weight watchers and join a diet that works with a variety of food, i think the DDR is a good thing but try to avoid eating fatty food etc whilst playing games. Weight is something you can inherit, If your mum is overweight it's obvious that your going to be overweight, but it is reversable.. Like i said, the encouragement you get from going to public weight loss groups is supposed to help a great deal, take pride in your body and know that you losing so much every day is a great achievement and keep your spirit's high, you've got determination all you need now is a sensible diet and someone to work on your weight with, it is generally better if you have a partner as such to lose weight with, someone who is roughly your weight and age so if they lose less weight than you they have the determination to lose more weight, turn it into a game as such and then you will really start to shed the pounds. I give you my best and good luck with this, just remember to stay on a diet that won't put you in hospital ; But if you do decide to stick to your diet on a daily basis eating the same thing, make sure you know what your body is missing out on, i saw that there is no meat in your diet so i recommend taking supplement tablets to fill in any missing iron / calcium you would get from dairy products / red meat which you have decided to leave out of your diet.
