| Gunzfactorian | Yeah that was insane... What would be worse, being raped and conceive children for your dad, or being kept in a basement for 24 years. Well combined it ought to be bad. Lame thing she got arrested afterwards, but I suppose it could have been worse (Hardly, but it could have). |

| Gunzfactorian | That's so stupid, mean and cruel at the same time. That guy should deserve some serious punishment. I would of commited suicide if I stayed in a cellar for 24 years, that's a long time and I'm not even 24 years old yet. It's horrible. |

| Gunzfactorian Commando | You'd probably be at least a little crazy after being locked in a dark room, not even knowing what time it is for 24 years. I mean think about it, you don't even know if it's day or night, because everything's so dark. Try sitting in a dark locked room knowing you can't get out for 10 hours, not even knowing what time of day it is, or how much time has passed. You sit there looking at the wall, knowing there is nothing you can do. You can't even sleep, so you just sit there in darkness, thinking about what the world was like before. Okay, now try doing it for 210,384 hours. And remember, you probably get no showers at all, minimal food to live, and probably never get to take care of yourself(brush your teeth, cut your hair/fingernails/etc). And even if you could, would it REALLY matter? I mean in the end, would it really change anything at that point? You can't really feel any worse. Last edited by ToshX; 05-11-2008 at 01:53 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian Commando | You couldn't really "adjust to knowing what time it is" as there's no way to tell. You'd just have to guess at it and hope you sleep at the right time when you happen to get tired. Sometimes time passes faster than others and sometimes you don't get tired until a few hours after you usually do. I mean really, I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up changing your sleeping pattern a full 12 hours every single month. Because really, the only way you can know what time it is is if you wait for the guy to open the door and rape you, so maybe you can see the daylight for a split second. But who knows, maybe they had a clock down there. Still, the idea of it is pretty twisted and time plays a bigger emotional role than you might immediately assume. |

About the matter at hand, I don't think you'd really care what time it is. Different times of...endless night don't mean anything anyway. Sleep habits don't matter. Sleep if you're tired. Eat when you get food. And I think the reason she didn't escape is because she was locked up in there at the age of 11, and so hadn't yet developed any advanced ideas that a typical rebellious teenager would get, possibly from peers or history (revolutions, etc.) so the idea of escape might not even have occurred to her. Or maybe she was afraid that she wouldn't know what to do even if she got out. In any case, that's just sick. People like that...I'd have to say death penalty, but I don't have a say. Or maybe "life imprisonment", as if he's even going to live another 24 years to get a small glimpse of what he put her and the other three children through. | |
