I don't understand how you can classify Lil Wayne and 50 cent's rap to be non-meaningful. Lil Wayne gives out inspiration in a few of his songs.

If you choose to listen to what constantly plays on the radio(things like lollipop, worst song ever) and other songs that are overplayed on the radio, then yes thats you. It's not showing laziness, it's showing lack of caring. You don't CARE what else that particular artist has to offer. I look for freestyles from Lil Wayne, and Eminem, and 50 cent, because I saw something in their style that made me want to continue to listen to them. To gain inspiration from them. Eminem's one of the Best rappers still alive today, because he has devotion. Lil Wayne has a killer inspiration and fire that makes his lyrics rememberable. "Lil Wayne Ima shine in the rain." How can you hear that and not gain inspiration? or

Personally, my favorite Rapper is Eminem, I like his freestyles, his off the wall delivery.

Lil Wayne been in the game since he was 9. Don't know how you can consider him a sell out. He has some songs that go with the current style of radio crap, But his truly good songs aren't allowed to be on the radio.

Yea I respect your opinion, because I personally don't like people who brag either, but he gives some credit where it's due. He has a song called "Best Rapper ALIVE", not best rapper of all time. rakim and KRSONE. you can't talk about best rapper alive without mentioning them, it's just not possible.

now you want to get a little more into the newer school, less known stuff, how about Lyrics Born and Apathy.

all four of those artists are lyrically superior to just about every artist mentioned so far.
