| Gunzfactorian | In my opinion, I think that there is no heaven after we die. Heaven is a comfort humans use so they wont get out of hand before they're gonna die. I'm guessing well probably sleep forever. I heard scientists are coming up with new ways to live for 150 years. I heard that they are growing real body organs (yea i was shocked too) They say that when your heart or any of your other body parts gets old they'll be able to replace it. |

Therefore, you were dead before you were born, not on a physical plane at least. However, technically, you cannot exist without a brain, so when your brain doesnt exist, you dont exist? Because if the concept of souls is real, then life has a more spiritual outlook, its like creating a soul when you fertilize an egg, which in my opinion, is a bit farfetchd. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | there's no explanation whatsoever for what goes on before you live.... our human minds cannot comprehend this since we always believe something has a beginning and an end... in my mind I believe we go through cycles of life meaning that we just continue life in another body, which may not be on earth O_o |

| Gunzfactorian | Yep, being non-existant just seems inconceivable to me. Whether it's before or after our life, I believe we are in a kind of chaotic dream, unbacked by the brain's memories and regulations. At least that'd be more entertaining than eternal nothingness. In fact, I'd like to have the ability to send myself into a perpetual dream, as mine are usually more entertaining than my waking life. OR MAYBE MY WAKING LIFE IS ACTUALLY THE DREAM!? So yeah, what I believe is: before and after life = you're kinda conscious, but not anchored to a brain, but you do exist since the beginning of times, and you will exist until the end of times, if the concept of time can be applied to bodiless consciousnesses. Now my mind hurts. |

Some types of reincarnation I do believe in, only because of a few simple reason. Like, I was watching some channel (can't remember) and it was saying that people would die with wounds (say a 3 cuts on the neck), a baby would be born years later with the same scars, just as birth marks. Also, I think, the image you die with is the image you come back with.

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | i understand the concept you are getting at.. if science explains all then we were "un-existant" but .. surely you would remember something if the whole religious theory of "reincarnation" or in this thread posed as "soul recycling" then memory would live on via your "soul" Quote:
"if god is real why would he create a universe and not care for it ? surely if you created earth etc then ... you would care if the people there even believed in you ... and surely if god IS real then why don't he get his ass down here or .. magically impregnate another random woman with a baby to sort us out? i mean c'mon we are basically the living definition of hell " Well anyway moving on from that subject of god's very existance ... what happened before your born? .. Nothing ofc, otherwise .. read above.. but surely... nothing my brain never recalls doing nothing for million's of years .. so now science comes into it.. i don't ever recall being "waiting to be born" so therefore my soul is B/S as far as i am concerned.. so what holds my memory's and thoughts?.. my brain ofc the biggest and most powerful database you will have 1st hand experience to .. So scientifically speaking my brain was never made therefore it cannot recollect being not born because my brain was made by my dad's sperm ( ew ) and my mothers egg ( even ewwier.. ) so the only thing i'd have left to drop back upon is my soul.. ( read above if you haven't done so ) the world is growing.. surely every person cannot have a soul if the world started with a single 2 ... adam and eve where along the line did their soul's multiply ? That concept is ridiculous .. souls multiplying ![]() But no seriously .. if you were ever non existant .. surely you would remember it ? .. but wait, most people can only recall their very first memory's from about the age of 2-3 .. does that mean from being born till your 3 you were non existant ? ofc not, that is stupid .. so i guess the same must go for yourself ... maybe "god" has a legion of .. much like dummies waiting to have a role... like lifeless souls that he can send down at any given time for a birth. Stupid concept to me ... im athetist.. W/e im sick of thinking about it and babbling on.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sometimes I prefer the views of heaven and hell and our lives I read in books and such, there perspective on things seems to be more likely than all the bible stories and various other religious ones. There was one book or something I think where you had to do tasks to help the living and the more good things you did the more feathers your wings got but if you did something wrong then you would lose feathers until you had none left and then you would disappear, there was also another part in it where memories from previous lives were kept in bottles. If there is anything such as the afterlife then I'd rather it be a system or something like that which seems to make more sense to me really. But anyways maybe we live again and maybe we don’t and maybe there is all this stuff but it's not like we can ask anyone so we might as well live in the moment. ![]() Last edited by Dicey; 04-30-2008 at 05:14 PM. |
