| Banned | I would approve of this list of collective knowledge. When I was begining to get into gladiator matches I pretty much had to learn everything on my own. (Im really proud of the fact that I figured out quickslash without anyone teaching me.) I learned the simple butterfly out of simple commonplace, but it took a while of trial and error to learn how to fight properly. I had to watch and listen to any spare information others would leak. Having a good source of techniques and teachings would really help newer gladiators off their feet. Most of the previous sword guides have been very seperated or of poor quality. |

| Gunzfactorian | There is a lot of sword techniques, mostly different combos, and IMO they should be kept in secret that way only those know it, who play gladi 1v1s often, or a friend shows it to them. We should keep up the "better player trains the beginner player" stuff. |

| Gunzfactorian Postcount Demi-God | Well i've decided im gonna make it anyways. Knowlege and application are two different things. Knowlege can be gained by being taught or watching some one play (although its alot harder with gladiator because you have to change the way you think to learn them), where as application can really only be learned through experience. You dont expect people to find a use for Dan-step immediately, but the move is extremely useful. Last edited by Hymnosi; 09-24-2006 at 09:28 PM. |

![]() ![]() | I think it's a good idea, just because someone knows HOW to do something, doesn't mean they CAN. Example: Most people know that instafall is when you cancel a flip by hitting a person after they are flipped, but how many will do it correctly? |

![]() | I also think it's a good idea. The more people know the techs the more fun we can have. Surely most people won't use any of the things you could show them, but if some of them do it, then I think it would be worthy ![]() Quote:

I'm not sure if it's cerb's exact stalk, but the way I see it is you use a quick move which cuts off a slash as a feint to give the massive to the opponent. You then take this moment to keep attacking your opponent. As long as you NEVER stop attacking, your attacks can't be blocked. |

I've broadened my definition of stalk to... Using a quick movement (butterfly, voidstep, dash) to position yourself next to your opponent to attack with a series of groundslash. Done in repitition is called stalking. Quote:
Extended Massive was coined as the idea that you can use a massive for a short period of time after the massive glow has left your sword. Perfect gaurd is the idea of tapping block or parrying attacks as they come to you. If done correctly you can eliminate all sword based damage done to you as long as you continue to do it. The way to know if someone is using it against you is if thier sword glows brighter than a normal massive (the massives from blocks stack on top of one another). A more defined definition of stalk would be: "A technique that allows the opponent to create a hole in the opponen't defense, allowing them to cause plenty of damage which is unblockable". Remember, I don't use groundslash. I use a octoganal or following double butterfly. Exteneded Massive is Delayed Massive. It's where you run at someone, and as the animation runs out, you jump and press it. The majority of your arc (jump) will contain the massive. | |

| Banned | Actually, cerb's stalk is simply the quick slash directed at the oponent and keeping them moving. Mine is a conjunction of a feinting move, scraping the defense, and then using the opponent's massive as an advantage of my own by unleashing a barrage of blows. My choice of move is the double butterfly, hop, slash slash, dash forward, repeat. |

![]() ![]() | Well, my version of stalk is far superior. First I look them up in the yellow pages, then I proceed to call them and breathe heavily on the phone (STAR 67 I BELIEVE, IS YOUR FRIEND ). After this throws them into a state of confusion, I quickly ninja dash to there house ( Ninja Dash consists of Jump into mexican landsacper truck ->Jump out closes to the house ). And while they are still in a confused state, I then proceed to cut off a lock of there hair ( Preferably done with scissors, if you're only a level 1 stalker then just get a knife, it works if you use it correctly ). After that you will need to find their AIM SN/MsN/Yahoo/MySpace, then create a fake account on any of those ( Your name should be something like, I<3*Name of stalkee* ) and send them naked pictures of yourself. Once this is complete, they will be in an utter state of shock, which is your chance to call them and tell them..I still love you, this should provide them with insomnia for the night. I will continue with my advanced techniques later. |
