My objective view is that Divine Rose, darkbanana, and myself, have the top three videos with the best chance of becoming ijji's official trailer. I expect all three of us will win something, but of course I could be wrong (look at how ijji picked the videos for the first contest, missing out gems like Gosu).

I personally am satisfied with my own video. I like it, and am proud to call it my work.

As to Paremco's movie, I was very unimpressed personally, though I would not be surprised if it emerged top ten or even top five, given our easily-impressed voters who automatically flock to the videos with more views.

After, of course, I locked his thread, disagreed with him at least twice and was loudly unimpressed by his movies. And THEN he decided to say "what he really thought", overturning his earlier post in the process. Let me break this down for you:

- My trailer is released.
- Paremco says he likes my trailer.
- I lock a thread of his. No infraction given.
- I post that I am not impressed with his new movie. If I recall right, he had another one that I also posted on with a non-positive comment.
- In the thread for his latest trailer, Paremco calls me a mother faggot or something like that, and begins to insult and compare my video with his.
- I bring up the post where he commends my video, showing a discrepancy.
- He says he was being nice to a rookie moviemaker, although I have another widely-known, four-star movie. It's called Terminal Velocity. 90% of responses were positive. Quid Novi garnered mostly positive responses as well, so far. Rookie? Hell yeah. I'm not even counting Freefall, and the Kunai Clan Movie I attempted.

If the above sequence of events doesn't turn you 180 degrees, plus taking into account that YOU also think that Paremco is very arrogant (I also have evidence for this statement), then I really give up on you. Paremco has the motive to be a dumbass to me.

Paremco made a positive comment on my trailer - I have no reason to exact vengeance for that.

To summarize:

Paremco has motive, I don't.
Paremco was doing the flaming.
Paremco was the one with the discrepancies in claims. He has contradicted himself. I haven't.
Ruf has motive as well - I wasn't so impressed with his video. But if I remember right, you had positive comments for Quid Novi. So again, you have motive, I don't.

If this doesn't convince you, don't post your reply here. Paremco is entitled to a thread free of off-topic whining and arguing, no matter how much of an asshole I personally think he is.

I think a lot of this bickering is entirely unnecessary. I question both of you for having such a narrow view on editing and movie making in general. Too much effects, too little effects, who cares? This video flowed well, whether or not he used a few more effects than he should have. I see no reason to disrespect or bash on a movie because of a number, it's how it looked in the end that matters. And honestly, it didn't look bad. It didn't LOOK like he slapped a bunch of preset effects on a composition and hit render. And I'd think that a fellow editor could tell that there was a lot of timing involved and careful composition in the editing here. Now I don't particularly care for the style of putting a special effect in every shot either, but it doesn't ruin it to the point where I would say that it was a simple matter, or that it was easily done and deserves no respect. I can see where you're coming from, because the way this was recorded was pretty simple, but he made it work. He didn't use free cam mode and run around the map like a braindead chimpanzee on crack, shaking it around in a circle with the fighters going off frame for half of the shot. They actually looked like angles in the end, which is more than most people can say.

On the other side, I don't see a reason either to undermine a person's video for the pure fact that they didn't sit in after effects and insist on adding an effect to every single shot. Many professional productions use very little effects, and the end result is a product of careful shooting and timing on transitions between shots, which are often straight cuts rather than elaborate special effects. The best videos are the ones that were shot perfectly to begin with, and edited later.

Point being, you people can have your tastes and your preferences, but be ****ing civil when rating another person's video and give them the respect they deserve. Learn that your style isn't the only style out there, and that unless a fellow editor is just mooching off of someone elses hard work, there's no reason not to respect that they've made a nice looking production.
