Omega slapped the man with the back-hand of his palm and continued interrogating him. Finally, he turned to Artix, his eyes betraying his hate for the monotony of the walls surrounding them.

"Screw this," he exclaimed. The man seemed as lost as they were, or maybe he had pistol-whipped him harder than he thought. Omega pulled out his Gehda stone and turned over to Artix.

"I think he's stupefied; but we still have this." He spun it slowly on his palm.

History: An Ancient Demon, he was sealed away into a sword for the battle in the far future. Before he was sealed, he was a high demon general, in the first battle for Earth between Heaven and Hell. There, he was met by; and struck down by, a man known as "Wilhelm Dehmas", who is now known as "Kyle Ardet". As he laid there defeated, he placed a curse on Wilhelm, a curse of immortality until the final battle between heaven and hell. The demons sealed themselves into various objects, in order preserve their bodies, and to trick High Heaven into thinking the Pure Demons went extinct. It has been thousands of years since then, and now "Taal" (a nickname he made for himself to trick james) sets forth to find the mighty Canopus.

He loves his family and town more than anything, and would defend them to the death. Taal; who was trapped in a sword, used James to collect demonic blood and energy to release himself. Once released, he proceeded to make illusions of fire and demons, to set James into a weakened state of mind. He is now nothing more than a body of thoughts, trapped in his own body.

Taal walked across the field, full of long green grass and flowers. The sky was a crystal blue, a few clouds floating around lazily. In the distance, a small stream could be heard, running loosely over rocks. The scene was crystal clear, and the temperature was perfect. It all made him want to heave. The sooner he found a new village, the better.

Artrix looked at the stone Omega had taken out. For a moment, Artrix stared at it. Then he asked, "And what is that? Or rather, how can that get us out of here?"

Harper's eyes flicked open as she heard the sounds of Kyle leaving his room. Her meditative trance was over, and she also took some time during the night to forward her knowledge of some of the demons' locations from Ailysa to High Heaven. But they never contacted her back.

She slipped on her robes and left the room, meeting Kyle in the corridor.

"So, what are our plans for the day?"

Kyle stood in the hall in contemplation. "For now, I suppose we should track down the next item, while figuring out where Canopus's den might be. Your thoughts?" Kyle said, as he shut the door with a small click behind him.

[Sigh]

A pair of stray shots were fired in direction towards David, neither of which were targeted at its true prey. A sharp pain erupted in David's shoulder as one of the shots made contact with his left shoulder with the next preceding shot encrusting itself in his chest area, causing him to lose his breath and fall backwards, head first onto the pavement. He suddenly felt his vision fade to a point where everything seemed like a blur in just a moment he didn't see or feel a thing.

With her boots in her hands, Ailysa waded along the bank of the river, enjoying the cool sands and odd stones beneath her feet. There was a light breeze and the Night Elf stopped, her head raised and eyes closed for a minute of two, listening to the rivulets of water trickling past her knees and feeling her hair flutter in the wind. For a while, she was in tune with nature, Ailysa’s breathing taking a slow and steady pace, until Bub’s panting brought her to her senses.

She smiled at him, brushing her fingers across his silken coat and gazed across the plains ahead.

“Come on,” she motioned to Bub and they continued on their journey, Bub’s tail wagging behind.

"Well, as far as the items go, I'm getting two hits.. all of them are about the same distance away." Kyle closed his eyes, inhaling slowly. "One to the south.... and one to the north...west." He said as he stretched his back slowly. "I'll leave it up to you which one we take."

Taal walked upon the field, trying to sense out his direction. The sun hung high above him, forcing him to wait until it set to determine which way was what.

BASTARD, I'LL THROW YOU OUT OF MY BODY came the voice of James

"Oh? And how are you going to do that?" Taal questioned with a grin, the pure feeling of loathing coming from James's consciousness gave pure enjoyment to the demon. He could feel James trying to come over Taal's mentality, and suddenly, Taal's pinky began wriggling. He put the hand up to his face, staring at the wriggling finger with a look of contemplation. Eventually, the finger came back under Taal's control, sitting motionless on it's joint.

The demon burst out laughing, clapping his hands. "Amazing work James, now you only have 200 some OTHER bones left to gain control of! A FINE achievement!"

"hm. nothing much to tell. They both seem to be away from civilization, and they are both pretty powerful... Though in a sense, we have two options. We can go after them one at a time, or we can both go after them separately. The latter being the more dangerous of course."

I figure since this is the third RPG in the trilogy I'll have to begin wrapping up controls' part in all of this before it gets too late.

Omega gave a grin. "This, good sir, is a teleportation gem. Just give me a destination and it'll take us anywhere."

Epsilon stopped as the black helicopter swooped over his head, the air from its rotating blades kicking up ash and soot made from the disintegrating town around them. Armored soldiers spilled from the opened side door, shouting verbal commands he couldn't hear; a dozen of them garbed in flak armor and eerie helmets, each indistinguishable from the last, moved in quick succession and advanced on him.

The rifles that proudly bore the brand 'MAXWELL' they carried leveled with his form as the soldiers fanned out in a cone shape and into more advantageous positions surrounding him. There was a sound of static, and then the amplified voice of the pilot drowned out the noise from the transport copter.

"By order of President Ruby Maxwell, of the Maxwell corporation..."

A lithe woman, not tall or short, appeared by the still opened doors. Judging by her form Epsilon guessed her to be in her late 20's (they were too far apart for him to tell accurately); but even from that distance the machine's optics could make out the distinctive shape of the anti-tank assault cannon she casually drummed her fingers on.


Her bright hair whipped wildly in the wind as she moved even closer to the edge, the dancing pink strands kept in control only by a skull-shaped brouche that she wore.
She continued to regard him silently with her pale-green eyes, and as she did the machine could not help but remark at how familiar the woman seemed. The pilot continued to drone on.

"...You are ordered to stand down, on pain of death..."

That last part was a notion to the armored soldiers, each of whom had their weapons trained on the only target there was. He noticed that the make of their rifles was unknown to him. Must be a prototype, he thought.

Epsilon complied and raised both hands over his head, curious as to how this would unfold.

"It's probably more prudent to stick together, then, since I don't know as much about them. I'm leaving the decision of our next target to you."


"That works." Kyle snapped his fingers, and the space around him began distorting, engulfing the pair whole. The scene melted away from Kyle's vision, slowly sculpting in a new scene. Surrounding Kyle stood trees that seemed to kiss the blue skies itself. Songs from birds seemed to echo throughout the forest, as it made it's presence known to the civilized world. The ground was littered with pine needles and plant life.

"What happened to the hand signs?" Harper questioned at Kyle's side as she surveyed the scene.

"After our little encounter last night, I figured it would be useful to create warping stones." Kyle raised a small marble sized transparent orb in front of his face. "They're only good for one use, so they aren't as useful as natural stones.. Plus they require a bit of effort to produce." Kyle pocketed the stones, and walked deeper into the forest.

"What happened to the hand sign's?" Harper questioned, her grammar strangely distorted by the man's magic, though it was not apparent. She hadn't meant to refer to something the hand sign possessed.

Kyle understood her anyway. It wasn't difficult to, but Harper labelled it as a Freudian slip.

"After our little encounter last night, I figured it would be useful to create warping stones." Kyle raised a small marble sized transparent orb in front of his face. "They're only good for one use, so they aren't as useful as natural stones.. Plus they require a bit of effort to produce." Kyle pocketed the stones, and walked deeper into the forest.

Harper followed Kyle. "So, what can we expect?"
