Off the Internet:
I read Discworld(Terry Pratchett), D&D(Dragonlance(mainly Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman), Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Eberron), Magic: The Gathering. I don't really remember what else. I know I have a bookshelf full of Star Wars novels lying around, both new and old, but I don't read them much. Leave that to other members of my family.
Just recently I've picked up two video game prequel novels, Exodus(the first part of a trilogy for Hellgate: London) and some other novel, I forgot what it's called, that's the prequel to Mass Effect. Haven't gotten around to reading them yet.

On GunZFactor:
guobin2 FTW
I think I may like Nosedigger's work
Wixern's can be pretty interesting, too
Other than that, I really don't read much stuff off the forums.

Phew, you should sure be glad I didn't give away too much.

I haven't read a single Harry Potter book before; I don't think I'd have the paitience to read 400+ pages of text for a series of seven books.
Read the first one. If you get hooked, empty your savings into Potter merchandise. If you don't get hooked, bin the book, burn the bin, then spend the rest of your life whining across the internet about how the book ruined your life. =(

I always watch the HP Movies, but those can also get pretty boring after the first hour (the third one was just boring in general).

Movie adaptations of existing books or games tend to suck. Ever see an award-winning adaptation?

Hm. Can't say I've read anything substantial of late, except for a series of books starting with Darkly Dreaming Dexter about some serial killer who goes after other serial killers. Fun stuff.

That and uh. Tolkien, Rowling, Eoin Colfer, ROALD DAHL (revered for the utterly WICKED writing!), the Halo books and yeah.

And also a bunch of far more olden literature, like stuff by ST Coleridge, Edgar Allen Poe, John Webster, Shakespeare. Varied to say the least.

On GunZfactor I've found Senvae's and Wixern's work interesting, while Zephyre's short story was actually quite good. Nosedigger has potential (:
