LOL, calling me stupid and acting like your better than everyone else is you trying to be nice? ok i give it 3/10 for the arrow and vector outline of the graffiti artist, you posted it on here like you were some kind of god bestowing his gift on the peasants, when in actuality, his gift sucks. learn about textograpy, you either make the text flow with the design or if your design curves use a hard flat text or vice versa not something in between.

I'm majoring for a degree in graphic design at York (which has the best program in Canada with a 10% applicant acceptance rate), don't try to lecture me about something you know virtually nothing about.


Since you have difficulty drawing conclusions about the obvious, the reason I made the sarcastic comment "I'm glad you guys are literate" was because people started asking questions before they even read the thread title.

I'm not "bestowing gifts" I was trying to teach you in specific something about the art of a graffiti handstyle- again - something you know virtually nothing about.

If you're going to be pretentious and try to look like you know a lot when you clearly don't and try to start **** just because you have an ego and don't like seeing something you can't do and don't understand, take your attitude and mindset elsewhere.

Judging by your art and typographic skills as demonstrated in your signature you should feel fortunate that I've even taken the time to try and further your knowledge by posting as much as I have. I am a better artist than you however- at least you acknowledged my sense of superiority correctly. One thing you missed though was that I was only being superior to you, as you seem to be the only one challenging my knowledge.

I did it that way because I enjoy using my tablet and having a style that's individual to me which can't be easily reproduced is important in distinguishing the look of my site as unique.

He's not stressing me out really. I'd ignore him but I'd say that I'm inherently kind in nature and my first reaction is to try to help people understand.

So Rembrandt, as you may already know, Arrows in Art are indicators for where you want people to look, as with your arrow it draws the eye through the middle of your text and up to the T, completely erasing the E.

Oh 1. THE ART OR process of printing with type, and since the art that you want people to see is the TEXT, it is textograpy.

And since it is a banner you might want to make the text more readable, by either changing the position of the arrow, changing its design, or changing its color

A figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by like or as, as in "How like the winter hath my absence been" or "So are you to my thoughts as food to life" (Shakespeare).

Two essentially unlike things. Calling myself Rembrandt and comparing the situation of your ignorance to that of a toddler criticizing his works are quite different. It really has little to do with the fact that Rembrandt was a great painter and more to do with the fact that he knew everything and a toddler knows nothing.

I almost /facepalme'd when I read this, seriously, how hard are you trying to twist things around? Anyone who knows English in even it's basic forms knows that the definition of Art isn't fixed and that the word can change form depending on it's use. Within the definition of Textography- oh I'm sorry Typography, the word Art is used in a similar way to the word Skill. It is, in this case, interchangeable with an action or process. It is not saying in the least that the text IS ART. Typography IS an art and there were many artistic processes that accompany the term. You should read a brief history- maybe on wikipedia- do some homework and then come back before you try to start trying to interpret things you apparently don't understand.

No, I will not change the colour of the arrow, again, you lack understanding of the stylistic background of the piece. If I was hitting a mailbox, bus stop, wall, telephone box, etc etc, I would never stop to pull out another color, that's just stupid.

The design is just fine the way it is, it serves my purpose and it is perfect in it's form for the spot I designed it to fill- oh and there's something else you're assuming, that it doesn't fit the space I intended it to fill. Seeing as you haven't even seen where I intend to put it I don't think you're in any position to tell me to fix the design of it.


I'm trying to be perfectly clear with this post- I really hope you understand absolutely everything that I've written. Keep a dictionary at hand though there might be some hard words- for a sixth grader.

Looks good for a portfolio logo. The graffiti isn't too hard to read (I do little of it sometimes myself even though im not an expert at it lol). Your arrowhead is a bit oddly shaped try and fix it up a little better.

Btw did you do the graffiti before hand and scanned it? If you didn't its impressive work.

Thanks! I actually did it right in Illustrator, I have a big Wacom tablet so I just skipped the whole scanning/importing phase and just went to the calligraphy brush set.

It's actually an illustrator file, I could probably convert it to photoshop if you wanted me to though. I don't know if the shapes would stay the way they are for illu though.
