GunZ is not something to put your life into

It's been a while since I've made a serious post, but this post I'm making right now is going to be very serious.

If you haven't read the post, please refrain from posting

I know a lot of people like to get worked up on GunZ, which is why we have a very bad community. Everyone wants to be number 1, everyone wants to be better than someone, everyone wants to have fun. Of course, some of us have this, we call these people the "top" players.

Now lets see, there's a lot of jealousy and a lot of anger towards these top players, it seems that it's taken very seriously, I can't go into the replay section of GunZ to see a friendly 1v1 anymore. It's always got to be "(Insert big name her)(0) vs (Insert no namer here)(15) GG". And then of course, there's a flamefest in that topic, and pretty much half the topics on GzF.

I would just like to say that GunZ, is not something you want to put all your life into. There is a life outside of GunZ, there are friends, there are enemies, there are obstacles, there's adolescence, there's so many things that are way more important than playing an online game. Can someone please tell me what you benefit from being Number 1? Being flamed at by numerous people? Like how BP is feeling right now? Everytime he 1v1s someone it's gotta be posted by some idiot flaming him half to death. Or maybe you benefit by being known by everyone who plays GunZ? the 10,000 people that don't even know what you look like in real life, or don't even know what you do in real life? Do you like being worshipped or something? I know everyone needs a little loving and someone to care for them every once in a while, but you have to remember this is a GAME. You don't need to be number 1 to play a game, you don't need to defend yourself because someone said something about your mom, or your dad, or your cat. It doesn't matter, because they don't even KNOW you, why are you people getting so worked up about this stupid game?!? Can someone please explain to me why, I just seem lost on this topic.

When you get out of high school, I bet half of you don't even know what the hell you're going to do, my parents always tell me that life after school, when you enter the real world, is completely different than what you're living in right now. They pay everything for me, I don't have a job, but what do I do all day? You might think I play GunZ all day, that was what I used to do when the game first came out. I have my life planned out after school, I know what career I'm going to take, I spend at least an hour or two everyday, reading stuff about computers, electronics, and so many things, playing GunZ is just something more of like a side thing to do. I don't spend all my time playing GunZ, because it's just a game, it was made to just relieve you of stress and let you relax. Not for you to get worked up and start yelling at people over the internet, what the hell it's the internet, nobody really cares what you're saying or doing. If you absolutely have to say something negative about someone, take it to the PM system, on GunZ and GzF, we seriously don't give a flying shlt about what you have to say to him, the world doesn't revolve around you. How many times do you see someone go "Hey, that guy is so cool because he flamed him in that post, man he's such a badass". Not too often.

To summarize everything in short, lets just say that
1) GunZ is just a game, not life, don't take it seriously
2) Learn something new, you need to think beyond today, because in 10 years you could be working at Pizza Hut, and you'll think back and think of how much of an idiot you were on GunZ and how you wasted your life on it.

You make it sound like some people's main goal in life is to be good in gunz. I'm sure they got other things to do school/job. And there is nothing wrong in trying to be good in something you like and enjoy.

Ps. real professional gamers do exist, you never know if some of the more talented people in gunz move up to some other game with higher competition and tournaments and start earning money. You are telling people to live your way, stop now, everyone has right to decide what they do with their life.

flaming does get annoying and some people just gota learn to have fun respect other players and just roll along with life winning isn't everything *it's fun to* but when i lose it's no big deal

I think people will find this out for themselves is when they fail at life (highschool, college or w.e.), But will still play because they failed at life.

And I would never take a chance at become a Professional Gamer, that's like saying I'll take a shot at the NBA maybe.

Chances are you won't make it.

And as far as being the top goes, I agree. Anyone who's played with me ingame knows I'm just a fun-loving guy who doesn't care about winning or losing until I'm in a really serious or pissed off mood. But most of the time I just enjoy having fun and making people laugh, or laughing with others. It is a game, after all.

There are all those games ijji provide, there's jGunz, WOW, maple, conquer, star wars...

But just remember that as far as i know, persons who become a game addict DO have problems before getting into it.
You'll see that countries which have problematic cases with that (china, korea) are countries where the young persons are STRESSED.
This just reveals our social problems, and mmorpg are working great because they give us somewhere one can be the master, can win sometimes.
Yes, playing games too much is insane.
But the more insane is that suicide is becoming the second cause of death for teenagers.

In france we have a TV program which shows the few meaningful minutes of the day . It's called "zapping"
I saw a compilation of these moments for the whole 2006 year. That overview of what happened just give me creeps.
We could just sit down, play gunz and wait for the end of the world, you know... things are going worse and worse.
Those ill gamers just feel it, i think. They have to choose between a hard real world whith no bright future, or an illusion where you can be a god.

Just choose between the red pill and the blue pill.
