| Banned | My question here is, have any of you had a major revamp in playing style? And what effects has it brought. I've recently switched from a gladiator to a gunner and I find it hard to adjust to the elite channel now that I'm so far ahead, but I manage with a k:d ratio with a K > D so I'm pretty good ![]() |

| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Well about a week before NA gunz launched I switched over to d style. First of all I had to completely rethink the way I play since I had to focus far less on strictly melee combat. But one of the more interesting impacts I found was that when I was often either instantly given respect for using d style or instantly flamed for using d style, regardless of how well I was playing. (I should note that the latter is far more common.) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmm... I actually started using automatic guns (a lot) in NAGunz. Does that count? I did have to play a bit differently. It was great fun, and it made me start using automatic guns more. (even in iGunz) |

![]() ![]() | Eh, I mainly abuse SS HS, RHS, and RS. I can't get use to the slow weapon changing time of d-style, and end up dashing left-right without shooting. |

| Gunzfactorian Hero | I don't consciously make choices that have to do with style. I started off as a JSDer. Might as well used a dagger, but the one reason that kept me using swords was the fact that I thought it was easier to wall climb with a sword. I picked up slashshot (and eventually HS) after realizing how much I sucked in close range with JSD. The "run from the target" strategy mostly used by Estylers (and not commonly used at the time by others, Kstylers started widely using it around early 2006) was incorporated into how I play eventually, well, I didn't learn it from them, I just started running every time someone butterfly rushed me. About two months ago, I made a serious attempt to add glitch evade into my technique list until I learned it didn't avoid ALL types of massives (a serious disappointment). Butterfly, which used to be the staple technique of Kstylers, was something I never bothered to learn, even at the height of its popularity when Kstylers were mostly butterfly spammers who'd occasionally point blank you. I guess I can be considered a style anomaly. I think sticking to a style and all aspects of it is stupid. I just use what works. |

Sometimes you just want to stun them, void them, stock them, or any wonderful sword-only combo, and you just can't and you get frustrated, because they'll just keep shooting you with backwards SS. The main key is, forget about making them some neat sword-only combo, that will just give them an easy target. There's the part of the technique too, you gotta move alot more than swords and make weird movements. Forget about massive charge & hiding, that will just give you more deaths than kills Cheers.
