Since the main thread for this is in the guidelines forum and posts cannot be made there, I figured I'd make a thread here about it for any questions or comments.

Answers to common questions:

-Higher honor ranks will get you better honor swords. The dagger is the most basic one.
-Having high negative honor will land the person a "dishonor" tag.
-Anyone caught asking for honor will have their honor erased. Please report anyone who asks you to give them honor or "trade" or "give them back" honor.
-A person can only give 10 honor ratings a day. This is limited by the system.

Anyway, I have plenty of experience with rep meters. However i prefer them when they are like on this forum. Index - My Public Profile

Please note I have 11 boxes or rep (full). I prefer meters rather than a changing image. The longer your rep meter the more your rep. However with a changing image people aren't necessarily going to know if you have high or low rep.

Very nice idea! I have a question though--is there a limit to how many times a particular person can give +rep out during a day? Seems like if there wasn't it could lead to a very inflated system.

Its the same way here. You get one honor sword per rank. The dagger is 0 honor, and you get one sword per rank.

10 a day is the limit and you cant give the same person more than one rep per day

The system there is:

The way you work out how many points you give someone is like this:

You have a certain amount of rep points, 2500 for example:

You divide your rep points by 100. In out example this leaves 25.
Then you add 1 for every year you have been registered.
And 1 for every thousand posts.

If you neg someone you take away half the amount you would give. So if you usually give 32 rep points you would neg for 16.

THE BAR:

You start with one green box and 0 points.

dark green boxes:
1-100 1 box
100-200 2 boxes
300-400 3 boxes
400-500 4 boxes
500-600 5 boxes

light green boxes:
600-800 6 boxes
800-1000 7 boxes
1000-1200 8 boxes
1200-1400 9 boxes
1400-1600 10 boxes
1600-1800 11 boxes (max.)

I just noticed soemthing, er, there's the 'Add Reputation' thing under my own name... And when I higlight it of course it says 'Add to Ryoku's Reputation.' O.o So can you add reputation for yourself or something? O.o

No, click it. If you want to find out how much reputation you have recieved from one post you can hit that and it will tell you.

Like if you made a post and the next day thought, 'that sounds really profound' or something, you could check to see if you got rep for it.

Nope. Clicking your own rep shows reputation left by others on your post.
