Servers Lag On Purpose?

I went into Server 3 with 12 people couple of days ago, and a couple moments later of playing, SERVER LAG!!!!! Is Server Lag an input thing? Something scheduled by MAIET?

They're probably doing maintenence/running tests and such

server 3 seems to have that happen a lot

This is about Server Lag not Server Checking status. And it's not about gunny and his lag switch. >_> It's something like a traffic jam when players get stuck getting in a server and a channel at times which causes the CLIENT sided server to respond in this way.
