Should Gunzfactor be the official forums?

I was thinking about this today...

The official GunZ forums have been down now for three weeks.

GunZFactor is well moderated, updated constantly, and has no lag. What would everyone say to petitioning to MAIET to make gunzfactor the official forums?

Petitioning? I dunno. It'd take a lot of getting used to since MAIET would probably want more control, e.g. label all the sections the way they do on their forums.

With a few changes it could happen, but, IMO, they'd likely rather just fix theirs and go back to their casual routine.

That'd be cool and all, but I like GZF how it is. Small community, nearly everyone knows everyone, and not just a bunch of noobs spamming "when is official coming out".

GZF is not ready for such a task. The old, official forums had over 40 000 users, and 5 moderators were, well, moderating. I'll tell ya'. Every 5 minutes or so spammers appeared, making 10 different topics that get deleted after they got 2 pages.

I think we'd be more liberal with bans. The main problem with the official boards was that bans were impossible to execute due to the weak forum coding and security.

We're currently getting about 100 new members a day and seem to be handling it quite well. We've only had to ban 5-6 people, but we more or less keep our quality high by making sure that we maintain the quality of posters. Having well designe and placed forums is also pretty handy at keeping down spam, not to mention that a lot of the resources can be found on the main site that people would normally have to ask about on the old official boards.

No, really, it would just suck reading every 2 topic: "OMFGG THA NUUUUB PSRAYAAA" (note the bad grammar) or "We WANT OFFICIAL" or "WHEN IS IT COMING OUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?" or "SPAMM THE FORUMS!!". just imagine.

Only if I was a mod...I fit the requirments too: Doesn't sleep, knows english, and can spell.....too bad I have the anti-mod qualities of:Foul Language, Rude comments(I can fix that) and crude sense of humor.
