How far Gunz has come

In regards to Koven's thread of "The #1 thread: THE EGO", it made me a little nostalgic as it made me think of how far Gunz has come, as well as its community.

I remember I started playing IGunz 3 or 4 years ago (can't exactly remember) where there were only 2~6 servers(number of servers kept changing for a period of time) and they were constantly full so I had to put down my stapler on my "Enter" key so that I wouldn't have to make my fingers tired trying to click "Connect".

I remember the time when Gunz were full of sprayers and e stylers who just kept tumbling around and the favourite way of killing in DMs were to uppercut people and then spray them to death while they lie on the floor. Was very fun way back then. Anybody remember the Snow Town? There was a glitch in it which can make u float all the way up above the town, was really fun.

I can also recall the times when I was trying to learn K Style and I was a total noob.

Still not very good now, but I only play for fun anyway, and not as though my life depends on Gunz. Those were the good times.

Sadly, everything has changed, and like Koven said, ego is becoming a bigger and bigger problem in Gunz. That has changed the face of Gunz. People play many hours a day to prove themselves, get angry when they get killed by someone using automatics and cannot stand it when they lose and get called "noob". So different from last time.

I have to say this, Gunzfactor contributes to the growing ego. Having a place to flaunt your skills by posting replays and screenshots to such a huge community allows people to build reputations, as well as cause envy, jealousy, spite or whatsoever. I am not blaming Gunzfactor, I am sure the creators of this site didn't expect this place to become a place full of ego. But sadly, it did. People post replays for e-rep to boost their own egos, to put down others, or whatsoever. So what? So what if you can own in Gunz? To be honest, I wouldn't really care if I am good at a computer game, I just play for fun.

So anyway, I am out of Gunz I reckon. Can't stand it when I kill someone in a TDM, says "gf" and the other person replies by saying "Lawl 1v1 nub?". Yea, what's the point? I decline the 1v1 duel and the other will say "Lawl chicken, you know I own u ezpz" Oh yea, like I care.

I know I am getting a bit nostalgic here

But Koven's thread really did make me think of the fun I used to have back then. Now people play more to win, which is their choice of course, and I don't care. Anyway I guess I am looking for a new online game to play, I love meeting new people online

Anyone can suggest me something? Haha.

If anyone still up for some fun non-ego games or whatsoever, do drop me a PM on GzF though, and I will put up a good fight.

Just go on igunz. They have sprayers and such and no ego because no skills

^ Wow you read whole thread. I still play IGunz now and then, but it's rather inactive so puts me off really. I like playing with lots of people, but well, more people = more ego. I guess I have to compromise though.

And they are a lot better than you think.

I know i was in RIOT but clans in ijji tend to have more skill <_<

And hardly no one egos cuz they dont know english to ego with.

This is where i keep quiet at times where people ask me for ego-1v1. well, i dont think that ego is such a big problem, just ignore it and play instead of crying about it which is quite more annoying than the actual ego of random players.

i mean, whats the problem. its just game, so its just an ego. i mean who are you that you care so much about ego if its just a game for you?
(anyway, the games about people running around with guns shooting each other, of course you scream "BASTARRRRD I SHOOT YOU YOU DUMBFACK" and stuff)

and about that "nub 1on1? thought so, ezpz" stuff, whats bad about that? if you dont care, then dont care, but if you care cry (like all people seem to do) or pull out your gun and deal with it. geeez, but stop complaining.

I Gunz was good. The ping was better, there was more variety (In terms of guns, nearly no D Stylers >.>), and less ego. WRY GOD WRY.
