| Gunzfactorian Hero | I hope everyone reads this, because this is my two cents of psychology classes, and I thought I would share it with you guys, this might or might not change the way you think, but even if it changes a couple of people, my mission is accomplished. Everyone or near everyone knows the main problem in Gunz Society right now, and what is making lots of people quitting Gunz, taking it far up the ass, or caring too much about it, even getting stressed instead of relaxed which is what games are made for, is overinflated egos! First of all, let's define EGO: EGO - Latim for 'Eu' that means 'Me'. Despite the fact that we are a constant flux in neverending transformation, that socializes with other beings around the whole world, we imagine there is in us a entity unchangeable! Which define us.. and we should protect and please. An exausting analyse about this ego reveals that it isn't more then a ficticional mind trick. Basically, EGO is bull****, it won't make you feel bad or worst about yourself, you can't make yourself feel bad or worst about yourself, unless you can get thirds to do it for you, because you have to believe you are good, so let's give an example: Adam knows he isn't as good as Archetype, but he wants to have a 1vs1, he wins 1vs1 and beats Archetype, himself still doesn't believe he is better then Archetype, so he makes other people believe it by posting replay and screenshot, later he finds out, that for more people that praise him, he doesn't feel any better about himself, because he still knows, no matter how much you say it, not matter how much he tries to believe that he is better then Archetype, realizing he's still worst no matter how much you praise him, Adam stops being a ego whore. Germ says he's TOP 5 Gunz Player, he shows nothing to prove it, he's a sad little kid and doesn't do anything to back up his statement, therefore, his constant struggle to be praised at least once, for achieving a great accomplishment. Unfortunately for him, he fails miserably. AryaVarwin, couldn't stop by just being praised for being a TOP player, she wanted to be considered number 1, she wanted to be better then Kraise, she never was, and her attitude was much worst, which got Arya into a constant trolling of GunzFactor, in her eternal mission, of being praised by everyone and considered number 1. So basically, ego, is trying to project into others minds, emotions we can't achieve ourselfs, make others believe in what we can't believe ourselfs, manipulating their thinking, and the solution to this is simple, being modest and control your ego, everybody has ego, it's how you deal with him that matter, it's how hide it, it's how you live with it, unfortunately, the abbility to hide it comes with experience, growing up, etc. Gunz community is mostly 11-16(18) years old playing, and RARELY you'll find people that don't fit this age. Kids by this time are used to cartoons like Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragonball, Bleach, etc. in which (and notice this) the biggest smacktalker usually takes the win. They think smack talking is fun and will make you look cooler, and that is the same for online games, in the real world however, the reality is not like that. "For every action, there is a reaction with exactly the same effect as the action itself", so if you go ego on someone, don't expect them to leave crying, they'll counterattack with ego of themselfs... If you treat someone bad, expect them to treat you bad also. So who's the responsible for all this ego community? Each one of us, each one os us that praise and "warship" this ego whores, all the fan clubs, clans that support eachothers trash actions, everyone that supports that kind of attitude. If everyone said "SO WHAT?" for every ego based thread, they would stop posting, never asked yourself why in computer single games you don't feel so egothistical? Because there's no one to praise you! Some people run to tell their friends, some people get bored because they don't get praised for playing a game, and this is the problem with communities, this is the problem with online games. So remember that everytime you stand for someone who is trying to inflate their ego, you're throwing this community one step closer to the path of hatred. Of course there's some people like DiamonsShadow that live in their own little world, and will be egothistical regardless, but those are the ones that less affect this community, since people don't respect them, they pitty them. And this was the main reason Kraise was legendary, he was ego free. If you want this community to get ego free, stop supporting this type of attitude, stop being egothistical yourself, I sure learned with my mistakes, be sure to learn with yours, this is my help to you all, to this community, I did my share, if you take the example, it's up to you. All this text was wrote by me except for the quotes, so if you're going to post it somewhere else, please private message me first. And also, don't forget to +REP me if you liked what you read, and -REP if you feel like it, just make sure you take any action because every feedback is appreciated. ~ Koven Last edited by Koven; 10-03-2007 at 05:34 AM. |

It's a good attempt, but all of the stuff you said really has absolutely no truth to it. This is coming from someone who does have a degree, from an AMERICAN university, and took psych as a minor. Your heart is in the right place though. And that's about it. | |
