Shotgun damage per pellet?

Hey there has been alot of argument over this but im just wondering when it says lets say 9 damage. Does one shotgun shell do 9 damage or do each of the 12 pellets that shoot do 9 damage?

heh...not really.

that means each PELLET per shotgun shell does 9 damage.

I mean just think about it...getting shot point blank with ANY shotgun, even the first shotgun you can get, REALLY hurts. that's alot more than just 9 or so damage.

I believe there's 12 pellets per shell, so 9 * 12.

theres about 12-15 shots in the shotgun times the damage it sais on the weapon then take in the fact of how far away, point blank all will hit it does full damage very far 1 pellet for the damage of your shotty

1 shell= 12 pellets (9 damage for each pellet at close range)

9X12=108 damage average X average of 5 shells =

540dmg <--- this means you're probably dead

of course, there are shotguns that do WAY more damage and some that have less/more ammo to take into consideration 0_-

no it takes 2 point-blank shots to kill some1 or atleast shotguns 15+ can

armor of the victim also plays a factor.

Shotties do much more damage to armour than to hp hence the required 2 shots to kill someone even at close range.
