Newbies and Gunz

In my journed through Newbie Land ive noticed many things and would like to share them with you, now then before i begin. I would like a civil discussion on the points i make not a "K styler Pwns" response please. Ok then lets begin:

When i started gunz a few weeks back, i had my heart set on Daggers and as per usual made all the mistakes like spamming my special attack and then unloading some SMG goodness in to the body. These are standard newbie mistakes, but eventually i learnt and discovered a well wrote guiude by Father Prim, who i know many belive to be good with a Dagger though not the best.

Still, ive noticed several mistakes newbies make, the most common of which is the SMG spam. This is when they use an SMG and just spray until everyone dies, so by gaining levels quickly and all so never learning about the finer points of Gunz such as Aiming. Still, newbies are aloud to do what they wish and i wont stop them. I still warn them that spraying wont get them much father past lvl 10 without Aiming.

My next point is one regarding styles and the all most non existant newbie E, H, D stylists. This may sound like a god send to K stylists who will no longer have anyone to compete with and shall be the "Pwnz0r style". Still, its bad news for Gunz because for want of a more complicated sounding reason. The different styles is what makes the game fun, discussing the minor points of each and comparing them. Though it may not seem it now, these newbies are the life blood of gunz

My next point is in the K stylists themself who create Alts to learn to aim and things, ive got no problem with this. Its when they go on to slag off every other style in the book save for K style and implore anyone that doesnt have a sword to buy one and learn K style otherwise they wont survive in Gunz. Im not sure im right, but last i checked Dagger and Hybrid and Euro were pretty well matched against K style, because unlike K. Each is unique to the player where as K style is set down in law (You BF, SS, HS, FS and thats pretty much it). This all so does not help for it transfers this hate of other styles in to the newbies as they have just seen someone pwn an entire team by themself and not break a sweat so they are led to belive that K is the only style worth knowing.

My next point is all so a lack of teachers of the other styles, if you Pro E, D, H stylists were to pop down to the newbie channels occasionally and maybe show them a thing or two you could perhaps boost the numbers learning each style by a bit and perhaps narrow the lead K style currently has, i know that all though im a newbie i try and fly the flag of the D and E and H style all i can, challenging pros and beating them sometimes. This is a minor point but could help in the fight against K Style.

Thats about it, these are my teaching and i pass them on to the next generation. May they help you defeat thy enemies in the Newbie section young grasshopper

but in DMs i spray and k-style to get out of a tight spot

Objection! I am a newbie too! Newbies don't just spray without aiming! after 1 or 2 games they'll realize that they can't kill by just spraying and not aiming! So i say...they must be trying hard to aim and spray at the same time!

Add a bit information: most newbies need sprayers because they're not good at aiming when they first play.(eccept those really good players which played a lot of shooting games before)
Newbies are not good at dashing and trumbling...they can't do it for long hours! Maybe if you play some kind of musical instrument, that will help a lot!

Some players like to avoid close range.
Some players suck at any range besides close.
Some players do nothing but butterfly.
Some players use slashshot more than half step and some half step instead of slashshot.

There are unique players like mosnanda who uses his trademark "Wind Step"


So what's so unique about Estyle? Some players tumble different ways?

Standing still and spamming SG shots
Standing still and spamming Rockets
Spamming butterflies until something around you drops dead and you get the "You have defeated ******" message
Calling E style n00b
Calling H style n00b
Calling D style n00b
Calling every other style except K style n00b
Saying you pwnd someone in a 1 on 1 when you just barely won with 1 hp
Acting like a completely conceited asshole and calling n00b when you get killed by something that isn't K style.

Using Kstyle and being a noob are completely unrelated. You can Kstyle and be a noob. Likewise, you can be pro and not kstyle. Depending on your definition of "pro"

Now stop flaming Kstyle for whatever grudge you have against people who beat you all the time.

That's Sterotypical, not all K-Stylers are complete A**-Holes, only the ones that are stupid enough to think that K-Style makes them uber-pro and invincible. If you took on a real K-Styler you'd see that they don't spam their techniques as much as you think.

Lets say this!! there nothing wrong if you spray. you gotten use to spray inthe entry/beginners channels so you feelthe urge of doing it more:P

Later on in expert/elite (if they get there) you find that not that many people spray. Why? it is because people have saw other people not spraying and found out that they killed much more enemies that just the ordinary spray

I agree, i tried to introduce gunz to some friends of mine who played other fps, and in half a dozen, only one bothered to play gunz past lev 15...We tried some clanwars, and they saw the vast majority of higher level opponents kstyling, using female characters, and having at least a shotgun...

I'll repeat this again, kstyle is used by the majority cause it's overpowered....
Bfly owns too much in melee fights (changing this would need engine rework), but the main problem is on the weapon balance.
Breaker shotguns are too strong!!
And smgs are too weak for their weight...

I use d-style/e-style...I also tumble, and use obstacles for cover, but i end up using revs/shotties, and it somewhat looks similar to kstyling :dash , switch to (hi dmg-hi delay- not too accurate)weapons, shoot, switch dash......

Without higher level variety, gunz isn't attractive to older people who start valueing their time.

The only thing that keeps me playing is the overall speed/looks of the game, and the high skill of many players, it's challenging...but that IS NOT because they kstyle, they are just good! Move smart, and have good aim...

Off-topic: Has anyone noticed that when nO_obs say 'please' they go 'plz' instead and add 'z's depending on how much they want something?
