| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Reporting Hacks in Quest Mode IJJI GunZ Step 1 - Gathering footage First you will need a real-time video capture utility that is compatible with IJJI GunZ. Fraps is a pretty good program for this. FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software Step 2 - Reducing the size The video files that are produced by fraps are very large and should be compressed. The following is a description on how to reduce the size of the files produced by Fraps, and was taken from the fraps website. The filesize of the movie is big because there isn’t enough time to encode the movie while the game is running. The movie frames are slightly compressed, but still require a large amount of disk space due to the high resolutions. Once you have finished capturing you should convert the saved AVI into one of the popular compressed movie formats such as mpeg or divx. Recommended programs for doing this are tmpgenc (Tsunami Mpeg Encoder), and VirtualDub. Using VirtualDub is quite easy. To create a compressed version of the AVI follow these steps: # Start VirtualDub # Select File->Open and choose the AVI in the Fraps directory you wish to compress. # Select Video->Compression and choose the codec you wish to compress with (usually divx) # Select File->Save As AVI and specify a filename for the new AVI. If you have Windows XP you can also use Windows Movie Maker to compress the video files. If you use Windows Movie Maker it's recommended that you keep your Fraps video files at 800x600 or under. Step 3 - Hosting the video Even after reducing the size of the avi the file is still quite large and a pain to send in an email, so it's a very good bet to host the file on the internet. File planet is a good site to do this. FilePlanet: Free PC Games, Downloads, Mods, Demos, Patches & Maps Step 4 - Emailing the hack report And the final step is sending a hack report in. You should format your email carefully to make it as easy for a GM to do his/her job as possible. The correct format is. User ID of the Hacker Date of Occurrence Short description of Occurrence/type of hack used Your game ID The link to the hacking replay. After that, just sit and wait for your hacker to be banned! Thanks for supporting IJJI! REMEMBER! This method of reporting is ONLY accepted for quest mode! Please continue to report hackers the traditional way if it's outside of Quest Mode! Brief note: There are a LOT of hackers out there. I would suggest to report the hackers who are rather high in level and/or have premiums. Last edited by Xellros; 12-07-2007 at 06:35 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | The thing is, fraps only allow you to have 30 seconds of recording.(Unless you pay for it and get the full version) So for me 30 seconds for reporting hackers isn't enough for me. By the way...good thread. Last edited by goodboy5; 12-08-2007 at 01:12 AM. Reason: ^^ |

| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Anything more than 30 seconds is really too much in my opinion. It doesn't have to be an amazing vidoe that is like mins long. All you do is get a clear video of the hacker's name and a brief scene of them hacking. 30 seconds is more than enough time. |
