Default Water Action...

Hello. I just wanted to share this Photoshop action with you guys. I made this action out of a tutorial in an old Photoshop effects book (I think it was called "Wow" something). It works nicely, especially for something made over 5 years ago.

What is an action?
An action is basically a set of instructions that serves to make long processes go faster by automatically doing all of the recorded/scripted commands in a specific order. This means you can make actions that resize images, give a cool glow effect, and more.

How about this action?
Here's what this action does. It turns ordinary black drawings into bubbly writing!

You can easily add color to make it suit your needs.

It's a fun effect, so I hope you enjoy it.

How to Use:
1. Download the action.
2. Install it into PHOTOSHOP by double clicking it. (This is the simple way)
3. Make a new image... White background!
4. Paint directly on the white background with a black brush.
5. Find the actions palette. That shouldn't be hard.
6. Expand the Water Effect folder.
7. Run part 1.
[Optional] Run part 2 if you have a background. I don't recommend it, though.
8. Run part 3.
9. Profit?...

It's quite simple. You can easily add color by using the Hue/Saturation options. (Control + U for PC, Command + U for Mac)

Note:
Another cool effect can be achieved quite easily by doing this...
1) Find a nice color background or image background and put it in a layer under the bubbly drawing.
2) Select the bubbly drawing's layer and change the blending option. (Default is "Normal"... I recommend ones like Lighten, Screen, Overlay, Darken, Multiple, and the default one. Choose which one you like.)
I'm non-destructive while editing, so...
3) Right click on the layer PICTURE and choose select pixels/"layer transparency".
4) Merge the layers.
5) Copy.
6) Paste it somewhere and it should be nice, bubbly, and colored!

Be creative!

Fin.
