| Gunzfactorian Hero | Well I don't really want any flaming in this thread. So anyways, like the title says, it isn't really a bad MMO. It's pretty unique in its own ways and has its ups and downs just like any other MMOs out there. Leveling Yes we all know that it is very easy to get to max level in WoW in a very short amount of time (1 month if ya don't have a life, maybe even shorter). My friend (who got me into WoW) was a veteran of Final Fantasy XI and he says it became more of a job to him than a game @ higher levels (His guild had to farm and camp bosses to just get an item or two) and leveling in FFXI took an ENORMOUS amount of time. *He quit FFXI a longtime ago cause all the farming and camping made him /cry PvP I heard a couple people say it doesn't take much skill to PvP in WoW... WRONG! It pretty much depends on the class (in WoWs present state) Warriors for example takes a good amount of skill and whether or not their gear is top notch to do good in PvP as opposed to other classes (they are not as gear-dependent). *so if someone says PvPing in WoW takes no skills, that person is probably a Warlock :P* Horde Vs Alliance Now this is were WoW really shines, faction vs faction! random ganking and raids are pretty much the foundation of PvP servers ^^ PvE Now this is one of the things WoW is unique for: INSTANCES If ya don't know what an instance is, it is sort of a dungeon in a way. Every instance has it's challenges and awards, but it is very fun! In every instance you must be grouped with a party of five or forty (all low-mid level instances have five; Most higher level instances require more people, about ten or forty) Classes Sadly, ever since release date there has been the whole "nerf wars". Most other MMOs do not suffer from this because all of their classes are balanced, but for WoW sometimes it is the community than the classes themselves that lead to certain nerfs. Blizzard pretty much nerfs or Buffs some classes every now and then, which ignites complaints, QQs, and utter crying. So until Blizzard can finally solve the Nerfing and buffing and finally get their classes balanced, this is one of WoWs bad qualities. Characters/Races Every class in WoW is unique (and it isn't only the character skin/mesh/model that contribute to this) They all have racial or race traits. Too lazy to list em all Class specialization By reaching level 10 all classes can access the talent tree. Every tree contributes to how you want to play the game (A warrior wanting to tank adds points into the "protection" talent tree; A druid wanting to be main healer invests points into "restoration" etc etc etc.) *note players can re-learn their talents for a price so if they make a mistake or want to change their game play, they can get back the talent points they spent by asking their class trainers. *final notes World of Warcraft is only worthwhile if you have friends playing because if you plan to just go solo from level 1 to 70, it will be very boring and you'll probably quit in a short amount of time. I've been playing WoW since Febuary 5th and Its been fun cause I play with my friends and rarely have I experianced bordom with it (except maybe some grinding sessions )This of course is only my opinion =D _______________________ I'd like to add more but I'm sorta lazy atm so i think I'll edit later! | Moderator | I can get to 70 in 2-3 weeks during the summer. I've been playing since Feb. 12th of 2006 and I am more willing to play now than ever. My like for the game only gets stronger by the day. Leveling solo is kind of boring but being that I usually level alts from 12:30-6:30am I'm usually alone. It's not that bad being a shadow priest since they completely own ![]() All in all, WoW is in my opinion the best game every created ^_^ |

| Gunzfactorian Veteran Hero | I quit because everyone I played with kept moving to a damn different server and I had to start over god knows how many times. The game ISN'T that bad but I got really pissed off and quit. Got boring because of that. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Going to respond to the first post: Leveling: FFXI was a horrible, horrible game. It took me a whole day to reach level two. Most people have played for years, and yet still have not reached the max level. WoW is surprisingly easy. It took me only two weeks to get to 40, and Im still leveling fast(two levels per day). PvP: Screw you, warlocks are hard to play. PvE: The instances/dungeons in WoW are awesome. They always have some little puzzle or gimmick that has to be solved to complete the dungeon. Classes: I personally think they are balanced. Races: Do yourself a favor: Never choose BE for spellcasters. Class spec's: /agree |
