| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Am i the only one who thinks ff12 is a sheer utter piece of crap. Let me state why battle system sucks, look at a few other games that got horrid reviews that had the same system and they complained it was clunky, slap the word FF on it and youll have those anime dorks saying zomg the most innovation EVAR. When in reality the normal turn based system owns it. This has to be squares biggest mistake ever. Gambit system is just plain retarded- but youll need it anyway since the game makes it a pain in the ass to manually tell your helpers to do anything. Story- where have ive seen this story before??!?!?!? Hmm it had to be star wars. I wont spoil anything else. The game also has a big drought before any story parts, so its drought story drought story... and it repeats. Replayability- Low to horribly low, i wanted to get rid of it WHILE I was playing the game. The system is clunky and like all other rpgs youll not want to play it again after beating it. Art-God yes one of the few redeeming qualities, the characters are modeled more like ff online characters are, which is a good idea since the game looks beautiful. Characters- and yes they did well on this too, Balthier is the coolest person ever by the way they made him. Fact is they overhyped the game. The proper score would be a 7.0 for the gameplay a 5 and for art a one, not to mention slap on the name ff to add 1 more point. Rent or buy? Rent, buying rpgs is pointless since replayability is low. |

| Banned | I don't think the gambit system is horrible. I've been playing through it, and I find the game itself to be enjoyable. Lol at the starwars bit, though. First 30 minutes of playing and reading through the book I thought the exact same thing. As for the whole rent thing, how long do places let you keep games out now a days? I havn't rented any games recently, but I've never been able to play through a RPG by renting it. I like Gabe from PA's take of the gambit system. Penny Arcade! - Age Ain't Nothing But A Number (bottom of the page) If nothing else the moogles make the game cool. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | ff10 is my favorite final fantasy, now anyway play games like the second arc the lad ps2 game end of darkness and youll know clunky. the system in ff12 was like zelda but rip the spinal chord out of the action and replace it with a turnbased interface, that is what clunky is, it made me want to throw it out because of sheer boredom. So blockbuster has like a 1 week rental + the extra week hooked on. get it there |

| Super Moderator | I dont' see how. It was a turn based game, the speed factor determines that right off the bat. Have you not tried to cast magic with all your characters along with the enemy? It pretty much states how it's going down. What's best about that is you can have someone attack while the magic animations are going off which would ignore the mentioned factors nd rely on weapon speed. I just don't understand the problem, it plays like FFXI except many times better. And that's good in itself. You can use the gambit system to auto heal (Something you wouldn't be doing anyway, because that's a horrible job) at various HP percentages (Or number values), auto-revive, auto-cure status, which is basically the White mage's job and poof, one character down. Second guy can spam black magic and auto Syphon to regain MP at certain percentages (Or even just cast Syphon until certain types of enemies come along). Final guy just spams attacks. When you're not in battle, have everyone do seperate buffs so that it can get done instantly and you can move on. Gambit. System's. Great. All there is to it. For the first 40 hours of the game I didn't even use the Gambit system and it was enjoyable. If there's anything to complain about, it's the terrible Summons. Belthias was the only cool one, the rest were flipping jokes. They didn't even make sense, they were that absurd. Lion with gigantuous blades attached to his arms? Phunbaba (FF6) was replaced by some Beastly thing that made no sense but he was still in the game as a Summon?! That was stupid. Ultima was an Angel with a box for legs. What the hell were they thinking? What happened to cool summons like Ifrit? Maduin? Leviathan? Bahamut for stereotypical greatness? Instead, there's a Horse-man-machine with crossbows for hands. Way to go, that's exactly what people like to see! Imaginative rejects. |
