PokeMon: MMORPG

Just like the title says.

I found my old pokemon games the other day and just though...damn how cool would it be if there was a MMO version. As it turns out there have been numerous attempts to make such a thing by indipendant groups of people, many of which get shut down eventually.

Then i found this:

It sounds as if the project, should it go ahead, would be for the wii. Not that suprising really. What do you think? Would you buy it? What would you want from it?

I think its a great idea, but I'd be afraid they would screw it up, they should make me project management ;p. I'd probably buy it. I could right a small essay on what I'd want from it XD.

Yeah, it seems like a obvious direction to go in. To my knowledge nintendo have never made any venture into the world of MMO's before. I know the wii has online capabilities though.

lol, thanks. I kindo got that impression but never seen it used myself. Somehow I can't see them taking the sensible aproach and releasing it for the PC though. D=

There are pokemon MMOs on byond check them out but bewarned they are gameboy graphics

Oh yeah nintendo does a horrrrrrrrible job with anything online related. My wii is completely blocked from accessing my router because otherwise my router will decide to suicide as soon as the wii does something funny.

the internet on the wii is fine IMO, just cause u gotta use friend codes doesnt mean u gotta whine about it. id rather play with random ppl than the same ppl every time

Everyone has thought about this idea at least once. What Nintendo needs to do is team up with Blizzard on this. Sure, they wont make as much as they potentially could on their own, but, it probably wont be that successful if they go at it on their own.

I didn't even like World of Warcraft myself to be honest. I played on a friends decent level character, and on a character that I made myself from the ground up in the 10-day trial(yes I know it's very limited). I didn't see anything that I considered to be ground-breaking and/or worthy of my hard earned $15/month. They must be doing something right though, with all those players.

Would I play World of Warcraft on a private server? Maybe?
Do I normally hate private servers? Yes.
Do I especially hate them for free to play games? Yes.
Do I hate the idea of them for pay to play games even though I have never actually played on one? For some reason, not so much.
And why is that? Because the free to play games are not cash cows.
Oh, good point.

Edit: I'll be the first person, 18 years old, in this thread, to say that it would probably be awesome. With that having been said, I'm gonna go cry.

Nintendo would never partner with Blizzard and vice-versa; Two VERY different companies.

Secondly, the 10-day trials are free and longer than most other MMO's (That even give a free trial that is)
