![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't know how helpful this would be to anyone else, but personally I find it adds some fun to the game for me. I posted a guide about silent flash step / mos step a little while ago, it's a way of moving around with flash step that locks your animation and silences your dashes. mndfs / MosNanDa flash step. Well I've been screwing around lately and I found that you don't even have to make an initial dash noise when you start moving with flash step; you can just jump, do a quick weapon/sword switch then time the dash appropriately. No one would even know you were moving (seeing as the weapon/sword switch sound is really hard to follow in comparison to the nearing/fading volume of the dash). I also discovered you can rhs all on silent dashes if you time it appropriately. (which if you were coming up to attack an enemy from an odd angle might give you the element of surprise and since they can't hear you dashing would give you a chance to reposition and shoot again). You can 1.5 flash step with all silent dashes (two weapon changes minus the second slash) entirely silently as well as double flash step fully with no dash noise. You can also Jump, FS, Slash, Silent dash, FS, slash, Silent dash etc. Helpful for silent wall climbs (especially if you go up facing sideways or backwards, it minimizes the slash sound) This silent dash thing is just for moving around when people are trying to find you, or setting yourself in an unexpected place to ambush. The silent dashing is really un-necessary when you're facing an opponent in close to mid range because they can obviously see you they don't need to track you by your noises. (which means you can use whatever moves you normally do and make as much noise as you want because it's inconsequential.) I don't know, it could be just the way that I play, but if anyone is interested I'll post some replays and guides. Last edited by Blindside; 02-19-2008 at 09:34 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | lol replay glitch. No this isn't to look good in replays, it's so that you can move around without people hearing you ingame. And yes, although tumble is sopro, it leaves you vulnerable a lot more than flash step does. |

![]() | Really? I'll have to try that when GunZ is up again. That'd be sick with my epic ninja-hiding-appearing-out-of-nowhere-sneak-up-but-makes-footstep-noise-so-the-enemy-turns-around-and-makes-for-epic-phail. It'd be like a Smokin' Sick Style! combo from Devil May Cry 4. Hopefully I wouldn't mess up my rs on the unsuspecting bystander then. |

![]() | I can, just that I'm none too good at it. (Every once in awhile, an audible dash can be heard.) Still, I usually prefer not to switch weapons, as that makes too much sound. Silent dashes with just slashing is fine for me. |

:S Not a very consistent/effective strategy. Especially since you aren't a) Blocking : bf/dbf is good for blocking shots from the front while moving. You can also forbidden bf off of dbf. b) Gear switching : When you're not gear switching, you have your sword out and you aren't blocking, you're setting yourself up for rape. When you're switching weaps on the move at least you can whip out a gun when you need to take a shot. Light stepping without a block cancel will ground you when you take a shot. Or just fail. I'm talking about a method of play with 100% silent flash steps (which is quite possible and easy with practice, I do this myself constantly). There is no "sometimes" dash noise when I move. Unless it's purposeful. Sure, sounds good. Can't right now, ijji is taking a piss break. Mebbeh tomorrow/day after. Last edited by Blindside; 02-19-2008 at 10:02 PM. | |

![]() | I meant for just moving around the map (even though I don't ls around the map anyway). Maybe I should start...I usually just dbf/yoyo around the map to practice those moves while I'm playing. Well, I dbf in straight lines, and yoyo to go around corners. They've both improved from it. Also, if an enemy comes around, I usually just rss to the side or block/turtle so that I can avoid the first hit before starting my attack. And what's forbidden bf? /intrigued |

![]() | I must say, that's pretty sick. Thanks for the link. I've used the continuous silent dash thing only once so far for a specific purpose: To get all the way from a base to the center of the map in mansion in an atk and def game without touching the ground in order to wall hang on the chandelier. While I didn't do it in an actual game, I found out that it was possible. If you fs to the top of the pillars near the far end of the mansion, silent dash towards the chandelier, fs off that and silent dash again into a wall hang, you can stab into the chandelier. |
