So, someone explain Windstep to me

Is it a real step, or is it just silent dashing melee cancel replay glitch?

Its a real step, not really that useful however, Its basically FS>HS with an animation lock, you can't see the animation lock, but everyone else can because of the animation lock, it looks like you just dash 3 times with your gun out in one jump. Also your character doesn't move at all, (S)he kinda just floats with dash lines from one place to another. Im not 100% sure if this is the correct button combination but:
Jump > Dash > Slash > Switch to Gun > Switch to Sword > Jump > Dash > Slash > Switch to gun > Dash
Correct me if im wrong please.

The only times I can think of it being useful is for evasion purposes, or just a quick way to get around.

Well I was watching myself fight someone else via their replays.. and it looked like i was doing.. <_<. I think it just is a only visible to others thing.
