| Member | #1 remove the black bars if you don't need them etc, 80% of your movie isn't fighting, so no need for the black bars press T or H to remove them while in a replay viewing #2 One thing that really kind of made my eyes get sore and bored was when you use the free glide mode you kind of used it through the whole thing which is fine just watch the replay 3-4 times before actually recording then see where you should be recording it from using free mode, it makes it better in the end =) thats all I seen in it that i'd like to say but so far for your first movie you've done pretty well good job. |

| Moderator | Eh... this isn't very good at all. I barely sat through a minute of that before I turned it off, no offense. Just a few things to mention that could improve your future productions... Hit H to get rid of the HUD and the black bars before you record. Use some camera angles... Most of what I saw was free cam following the characters and while this is fine in some instances it got boring very quickly. You want to keep people's attention on what's going on, not show somebody running for a whole minute while you follow them with the free cam. As a result your movie is long and boring. Anyway... don't use different color for the subtitles each time. First of all, this is annoying; second of all, it doesn't look professional; and third of all, it's hard to read. The same thing applies to transitions. You consantly used a different one for the hell of using a different one each time. While those transitions may look kind've cool they're not always appropriate, and certainly not approriate when you have so many. Remember, the most common video transition is a cut, so that's what you should stick with for the most part. Don't swear. It isn't that you can't swear in a movie, but there is a difference between mindless swearing for no particular reason (perhaps to be funny) and the swearing of a particular character with a particular mind set, etc. All that swearing does to your film is make it look more unprofessional and immature. Lastly... it seemed like you used the music that you used simply because you liked it. That's not how you make your music choices when you're dealing with a movie. It has to be appropriate to the scene and flow with whatever is going on. Overall it looks like you put a lot of stuff in for the sake of it looking cool and variety. You use different colors for the typically "black screen," and you do things along those lines with just about everything else (music, subtitles, angle transitions, etc). While you have all these things available to you doesn't mean that you have to use them all, in fact, using them all makes your production look that much worse. What you have to learn to do is be selective, meaning, be able to make the right choices for the right situations. Good luck in your future films. Last edited by Yvgeniy; 02-20-2007 at 02:40 PM. |
