| The One and Only | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good try, but you didn't present this very well. You used the default back view for the first few minutes and then randomly changed to free cam mode. Firstly, storyline movies should never be filmed from that default angle for more than a few seconds. Never. It reminds everyone that they're watching Gunz - The Duel, instead of this world and situation that you're trying to portray. This guy "Typer" just talks out of nowhere, he doesn't even make an entrance. I mean I think I see him come in but it's hardly noticeable at all, so you don't know if this is a strange voice or if it's that other guy who's there. For all we know, he could be another enemy. This just wasn't very well organized. The hanging bodies part was a good idea, but noone has any idea what's going on until the main character expresses her disgust. The whole point of showing the bodies to begin with is to provide a feeling of disgust on your own WITHOUT her having to verbally say it. Showing a full shot of them like that when they're clearly holding onto a sword with one hand and some are lagging does not give me the impression that these are strung up dead people. Looked at first to me like they were just chilling out. I'd fix this by first taking off all their clothing. You need something to set them apart from the other people who are all walking around. You need something to say "I'm a dead body". Secondly, you need to use up close shots and cut your angles. A moving camera is rarely a good idea in a gunz movie, since you can hardly ever move the camera without it seeming jittery and shaky. So basically, you need to show the dead bodies in a way that people have never seen before. Something that isn't a common sight in-game. Or else they're going to have in the back of their minds (this is stupid, he's hanging by his hand on a sword). Zoom in and cut out the upper body. Show only the legs or feet. Have someone lag out in the air while they have a medkit out and then cut off the lag symbol over their head, and then have a shot excluding their neck and head. This'll give you a good idea that they're hanging by the neck and dead. Anyway.. You should work on your special effects and your cinematography, as well as the way you present things. Cut more. That's my advice to you. Edit: Also.. Work on your dialogue. Read it to yourself and ask yourself if people actually talk to each other like that. You need to make it believable. This wasn't very believable, especially near the end. Make sure you pay attention to that. Last edited by Paul; 11-23-2006 at 11:02 AM. |
