![]() | Some of you might remember my fictional Gunz video series that was based on actual known Gunz players and their adventures. You can refresh your memory by looking here YouTube - Age of Kings: episode 1 Only two episodes got filmed but a lot more script was ready for shooting from the get-go. I always thought the concept of the series was great and very fitting to the game, so in the case that there might be others who liked the series and were hoping to know the rest of the story, I'd like to now offer this written version of the script since I know for sure I'll never be filming it again. So for those of you who it concerns, I hope you enjoy this little piece for what it is .As you recall, episode 2 ended in Runako killing Achae with his lean, mean butterfly. Here are the outlines of what happened after that. Some of it just had the general idea written down while other parts had the dialogue as well. Episode 3 opens with slow landscape shots of Lost Shrine, with very tranquil and gay music playing and Toktok's monologue going on over it: Toktok:I buried him in the woods. On a day nearly canceled by sunlight I whispered some words I had learned as a child...to set his soul on it's final journey. The story of a hero is not written in legends and history books, but in the silent earth that never speaks, never remembers. Following my hero I had come this far. Now there was no one else to say his prayers. No one else to sing his song. No one else, oh, except... Cut to tavern in town. Drunkard singing.... Whack fol the dah now dance to yer partner round the flure yer trotters shake Bend an ear to the truth they tell ye, we had lots of fun at Finnegan's Wake Toktok: Will you please stop making noise! They'll throw us out again. Drunkard: Oh I'll beat up the lot of them! Where's the bottle? It shall be my sword. Bartender bring us another bottle! Toktok: I really don't think you should drink more. Drunkard: Oh blessed child, what a cruel fate for yer friend. Let me commemorate with a song... Toktok: If only I had practiced harder. I must start working on the uppercut again at once. Drunkard: Hey you better forget about such foolishness. The uppercut is no match for the Dancing Butterfly technique. Toktok: Then tell me! There must be someone who can teach me the Butterfly! Drunkard: Why, didn't I tell you? You happen to be looking at the old Dancing Comet of the North. Toktok: What, you? Drunkard: I made quite a fame for myself in my youth with my prowess as a Butterfly fighter. Toktok: Then why the devil didn't you teach us that in the first place! If you did Achae might not... Drunkard: Listen, that technique is the real deal. Not something you could learn in a couple of lessons. Drunkard: Even with talent it would take years to learn. And to go against a master such as this Runako fellow...impossible. Toktok: Then it's all lost. Achae died in vain. The village is doomed. I might just as well take my own life too. Toktok: Farewell cruel world! You never were any good to me. With this timeworn dagger I'll... The dialogue is unfinished here. Toktok is very depressed, Drunkard gets him a job with his old woodcutter friend so Toktok can at least work to make money for his village. In the woods (filmed in Lost Shrine because it's green) the woodcutter makes him work insanely hard by constantly cutting down lots of trees with his little sword really fast. Inspirational music is playing (La Noyée from Amelie soundtrack), Toktok is cutting trees, text on screen indicates passing of time. Days turning into weeks, also the depth of Toktok's dedication to his work. Then a scene where Toktok realizes his debt as a man to his village and to Achae. He knows he's going to die but he decides to seek revenge. (Music: Dark Lolita from Wild at Heart Soundtrack). Toktok leaves to confront Runako again. In a small dialogue between the woodcutter and the drunkard we see a glimpse of the true reason why the drunkard sent Toktok to the woodcutter. Scene of Toktok vs Runako. (Music used is Murder from Berserk soundtrack.) Toktok: Minekeeper! Runako: Who is calling me? This is a restricted area. Runako: You? What are you doing here? Leave at once. Toktok: Hear this, minekeeper! Only death can keep me away from this place! Runako: Fool. Then death shall be your part. Toktok: I will fight in your name ACHAEEE! Runako: Wings of steel...DANCING BUTTERFLY TECHNIQUE! Toktok (to himself) : There's that butterfly again...none the less, if that is my part, I will fight to death. Toktok: What is that...did I just hit him once? Toktok: There, I did it again. Is he getting slower? Runako: The crystal mines are my life. I will destroy everyone who threatens that! Ungh.. Toktok: The strenght of the Butterfly is it's enourmous speed, but... Toktok: He's not slowing down...I'M GETTING FASTER! Runako: What is this? Toktok: After cutting down an entire forest in five days, I should be able to cut down one man in FIVE SECONDS! Runako: AAargh Toktok: A secret woodcutting speed technique! This one is for you...ACHAAEEEEE! (he is using the left click - right click speedslash thing, propably also sped up video). Ebonak: Stop right there. You are under arrest. Toktok: What do you want? I have no quarrel with you. Who are you? Ebonak: I am summoner Ebonak, the Shield of the Land, master of Earth techniques, and most importantly... Ebonak: Captain of the 7th Senatorial protection squad. I arrest you for the murder of minekeeper Runako. Toktok: I have an important mission to complete. I will not be stopped here. KIYAAAAH! Ebonak: Slash as much as you like. I will deflect all of it. Ebonak: I think that's quite enough. *Ebonak delivers Toktok a hugely powerful blow* (massive) Toktok: Aaaugh...What...his sword exploded... Ebonak: Take him away for questioning. Lord Senate is not going to be pleased when he hears of the crystal shipments coming to a halt. (End of episode 3.) Lord Senate and Duke Gilbert are rivaling warlords. Mostly though they just rival in sports. By defeating Runako Toktok's skills are acknowledged by Lord Senate, and since he's unknown and can't be directly linked to Lord Senate, Lord Senate forces him to go steal Gilbert's prestigious Golden Chess Board in order to pay off his debt for messing up Lord Senate's crystal mining operations. At the same time Korean is troubled. He feels that Gilbert's increasing strenght might harm the delicate power-balance of the region and start a fully-fledged war. Despite having to sacrifice some of his own moral standards for the greater good he decides to send Arya to assasinate Gilbert. Ebonak is escorting Toktok to Gilbert's castle and on the way teaches Toktok how to concentrate his inner strenght on his sword in order to produce a massive blow. When they reach the castle Toktok is faced with the problem of how to infiltrate the place, but Ebonak knows that Gilbert frequently has prostitutes sent to him so Toktok should be able to get in by dressing up as a woman. Toktok of course makes for a very manly looking woman, but Ebonak says it's ok because that's how Gilbert likes his women. Young Daniel and his father are out on a walk near Gilbert's castle. Daniel is expressing his unsatisfaction to his father's martial arts teachings since his best friend is already learning advanced tiger claw style fighting from his own father. During this conversation they witness the odd scene of Toktok dressed as a prostitute sweet-talking the guards into letting him enter. Daniel's father explains that men like these are called transvestites. Daniel announces his newly-found conviction that he wants to become a transvestor also and this marks the beginning of him creating a fighting style based on dressing like a hooker. AryaVarwin has also heard that the way to get into the castle is by pretending to be a prostitute. Still she wonders about her easy entrance without having to make any major adjustments to her looks. ![]() | Inside the castle we have a small fighting scene where Toktok interferes just as Arya is about to assasinate Gilbert. She is forced to retreat. Gilbert is grateful. Toktok reveals Lord Senate's plan regarding the Golden Chess Board. They laugh. Gilbert convinces Toktok he'll take care of things with Senate. Toktok tells him about his plans about entering the dungeons of hell to slay Holyforce. Gilbert advices against it because the only way to hell is by crossing a bridge occupied by the mysterious undefeatable guardian Cerberus. Whether it is a man or a beast is unknown because men who have gotten that far do not return alive. Toktok: So it truely is impossible to cross the bridge guarded by Cerberus the hell hound! Gilbert: Well...there is a story I've herd in sleazy saloons ...that one man has done it once. Toktok: How? How is it possible? Gilbert: Like I said, I do not believe it's anything but a story for old women and little children. Toktok: Who is this man? Gilbert: They say there is a strange hermit living far away from here, high up in the icy cliffs of Grey Mountain. They call him SleepingSky. Whether he exists or not is beyond my knowledge. Toktok: I shall find this man. If I must, I will travel to the edge of the world to find this man. Because there must be a way, and by God I will find it. We now enter scenes depicting the downfall of GhostKorean. Arya's failure has caused major conflicts within the group. Korean:You and Garam will one day carry the legacy of this clan on your shoulders. You two must never quarrel. Have you learned nothing from my teachings? The only force strong enough to uphold peace is respectfulness and love and... Arya: Love? Hah, love is weak. My parents were loved and respected by everyone in the village. But when you came to take their lives, how many of the villagers stood up for them? Korean: Your parents were leaders of an important clan. I've always wondered...have you not hated me for killing them? Arya: I hated you...the enemy...and you were the only one who took care of me. The only one who cared. Korean: You were so little then... (Here we see a b&w flashback depicting GhostKorean Destroying Arya's clan, and Korean adopting her.) Korean: Listen child. Your parents died for what they believed in. Korean: You are too small to be a part of that. I can take your life, but it will go in vain. Or you can rather live for something you believe in. (end flashback) Arya: You asked me then if there was anything I believed in. I never answered that. But I believed in the sound of your voice... the warmth of your arms when you carried me away. Korean: I tried to take you to an orphenage but you insisted to stay and learn to fight. Arya: The smell of blood! That is what I learned from you. I couldn't feel angry at you, but when you handed me a sword I held onto it with a passion unmatched by any man! Arya: Master, listen. Forget about Garam and those other fools. you are not old yet. With the strenght of my blade you can still rule for a long time. You and I together. Korean: I see now... Arya: You see it, don't you. Together we are unbeatable! Korean: I see now this is the end. It was my error, my mistake...Too late to undo anything. Korean and Mosnanda leave to travel back to the land of their ancestors. We see Toktok finally reaching Grey Mountain(stairway) after long traveling. It still takes him two weeks to climb to the top. There he meets SleepingSky the hermit. He finds it baffling that SleepingSky holds yoga classes in the town at the root of the mountain three times a week. SleepingSky doesn't agree to take him in as a pupil but amusedly observes Toktok going through daily life troubles at the mountaintop. Eventually he gives Toktok some tricks of the trade on how to manage better in the rough, steep and rugged terrain. Like focusing his inner strenght to his feet in order to walk on vertical surfaces. After a while once Toktok improves at this wallrunning stuff it becomes clear to him that not only can the hermit walk on walls, but he can fly as well. (this is supposed to, in some later scene, lead to toktok flashstepping over the bridge that Cerberus guards). The viewers are introduced to two young people attacked by a band of thieves. Davey and his sister Esprit. Both very lacking in martial arts skills. They have left their clan because Davey has been unsuccesful in making a career for himself, and he wants to find a new way to support his sister. The thieves are greatly overpowering the young travelers. The fighting comes to a stop when Korean and Mosnanda - still on their way to the land of their ancestors - enter the scene. The action quickly commences again, and we see the first exhibition of style by old Mosnanda, the fastest man on earth (scene takes some hard editing because Mosnanda's speed makes him virtually invisible when he moves). The main baddie, Klamberry, is fighting Korean. Klamberry: Pitiful turd. You are a joke. You will never win! Stop that...Arghh.. Korean: Sigh...why are you even living? Just -...*Klamberry drops dead due to a superspeed attack by Mosnanda* Korean: Mosnanda! The hell...I was in the middle of something here. Mosnanda: Kill bad guy! bwa bwa bwa bwa bwa! Korean: Right. Well that's that then. Davey: You saved us! How can I ever thank you! Oh, I curse myself for not being able to even protect my own sister. I guess I've always been a weakling. That is why we are on the road too. Oh good sir, gracious savior! Can we not come along with you, what worth was there in saving our lives when we won't be able to take care of ourselves in this world anyhow? Korean: You're a good man. But where we are going you cannot follow. The best we can do is to let you stay with us this evening since it's time to camp already. Korean (to himself): What has my legacy in this land been but one of senseless greed and disaster? Hmm. Could this be God's way of giving me a last chance to do something good before I go? Korean: Young man! There is still daylight left. If you are willing, I can teach you something very advanced for you to use for self-defence. There's hardly time for a full technique, it'll be more like a half-technique, but it should be enough for you to keep your sister safe from danger. Cut to later. Korean: Now don't forget to keep practicing. The rest depends on you. Davey: Thank you! We will never forget you! Korean and Mosnanda have left. Esprit: Do you think they'll accept you back to your old guard position again? Davey: That pointless menial work? Little sister don't you see this is much better than that! This may be only half a technique, but I will do it with twice the speed. None of my old buddies will be a match. I will climb straight to the top of our clan! Esprit: Don't you think that is too much. All we need is to live free. Davey: Beloved sister, a man can only gain freedom in this land with the force of his fist. The only way to true freedom is to gain power, real power. Davey: I will practice 18 hours a day and achieve that power! With this technique I can do it! And more than that...with this technique...I shall become...beyond power! [This is the start of the SK arc. The rest of it was in a very early stage and not put in writing.] The following is an introductory scene for clan Aqua, note about the scene: This was supposed to be followed by a battle between Gilbert's and Senate's troops where Senate's men lose because they have no body-armor. Senate: What is this? You! Accountant! What is this? Accountant: My lord?... Senate: You have deducted 700 pieces of silver from the budget of our cricket team! Tell me, are you looking to die? Because I will kill you. Accountant: But sir, the budget deficit... Senate: Your incompetence baffles me sometimes. You say we have no money, even though there are countless useless things to cut from. Senate: Here, what is this? Why are we spending 500 coins on military clothing? These are men, not schoolgirls. There's your moneyhole! Accountant: But they need clothes...that's why I thought the Cricket Club... Senate: Is it your mission to purposely sabotage the reputation of our Province? Senate: Or maybe you are personally a supporter of Duke Gilbert's Epic Cricketeers and wish them to reign superior over our brave, hardworking men? Accountant: Sir... Senate: What is this "We don't have money" anyway? Senate: Aren't we in control of the largest trading harbour in the whole eastern region? The money should be flowing in like water. Accountant: Sir, although technically we are in control, but the pirates, sir. Senate: Pirates? Accountant: There is an abominable group of pirates that have been raiding our shipments and are growing in strenght. (here follows a scene on the boat in island, introducing Fatso-Jim and other Aqua members). Then we go to a part where we find AryaVarwin struggling in inner turmoil. Her failure was humiliating, her master has left her. All because she didn't have the strenght to succeed in her mission. She is desperate for more power and thus seeks the attention of the one man who could possibly grant her wish; Holyforce. She is informed by Holyforce that her female body is too weak. This leads to Arya murdering Garam and Holyforce transfering her to Garam's body, at which point she starts calling herself by a new name, Dubble. Eventually this powerful yet unstable new body drives her berserk. But that stuff was never written. This is where the script pretty much ends. There where general ideas concerning a big showdown between Malicious and Curse (reinforced with Epic so there's enough peeps) where Malicious would use cool hacks and whatnot, and Holyforce would use Holystar, and maybe by this point Toktok would have had learned how to concentrate his inner strenght into projectiles such as rockets. Iunno. Last edited by Ella-May; 06-24-2008 at 11:40 AM. |
