| Gunzfactorian Soldier | A Letter found in a torn coat near Port Baron Tis’ silent sweet surrender That suffuses my soul with the slightest longing Is but more than a fleeting phantasy no longer The silver rivers of youthful love will have stopped a-calling I have stood and stared upon the labyrinth of the young The sharp twists and sudden turns of fickle contemplation The myriad of floaty, monosyllabic replies Intermingling with the drawn out, soulful cries The delicious shivering forever barred to me Icicles glistening unseen, unfelt in their blue vaults Pleasure wrought but unwrought A lustrous glow of twisted bronze dimmed and darkened Golden cupids and heavenly angels Have become lost to me As has love. A letter of fleeting love from one soldier to whom he has left behind. Just a short poem I came up with. |
