The Hunter: Chapter 1: The Deal

One mans decision can change his life forever. One decision can decide a mans destiny, Life or Death. That’s how it was with Robert and I. He had his life in my hands. Its happen to me once before, but I was on my knees staring the man in the eyes. He didn’t kill me for that reason I do not know. But Robert his expression to me was like I was a pawn on his chessboard, if I was knocked out of the game, it would be a mere stumble.

“You know why I brought you here? Who did you kill back there? Why are you so relaxed about this Hunter”

I just stared at him wishing that he was in my place and I was in his. I would kill him no questions asked. Robert wasn’t like me though he like people dieing nice and slowly when he got his victims he would do the same that he did to me. Wound them and keep them like animals. I would know this because one of my friends was in this hellhole. They didn’t kill him though. They cut off both of his thumbs and index fingers and left him in the desert to die. My friend told me to never screw with this man, because he knows almost every mobster and Boss in the country. If he didn’t kill you he would tell all of the Mobsters that you had a large bounty on your head. My friend was spared because he told where his Clan leader was. The location and the best time to “meet up with him”. The clan leader was dead two days later. Found with no head and no thumbs. The no thumbs or the no fingers was his mark if you found a man alive or dead and went through Robert he would be missing his thumbs or some of his fingers. They say he feeds them to the prisoners here.

“Now, now Hunter I’m not going to Kill You.”

He chuckled a bit and then got up. He walk over to me still with the gun pointed at me. When he got to me he looked at me, studied me and then asked:

“Now Hunter, you tell me what you know and I’ll let you free. Understand?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, yes you do.”

I really didn’t know what he was talking about really. He took down his gun and walked back to his desk. He put the Raven down on the desktop and opened a drawer. He grabbed something, while looking at me in a smirk he pulled a Knife out.

“Now, we can do this the hard way or the really hard way, Hunter”
“Stop calling that.”
“Hunter, but that’s what you are, right?”
“Yes, but I have a name.”
“So let me guess. Is it, Ethan Mohan Reeves?”

My full name but that’s not possible I haven’t told my real name to anyone.

“Oh, Ethan its ok, as it won’t matter. You will not live passed this day. Do you have a family Ethan?”
“No.”
“Well Ethan, if you love them you will tell me all you know do you understand me?”
“I don’t know what your talking about I know nothing at all.”

He walked behind me and shoved me towards a chair. I sat in it and he opened the metal door to let one of the Guards in.

“Now, hold him still will you?”

The guard came up to me and grabbed my shoulders and my head. He yanked back hard. Robert grabbed my wrist.

“This might hurt Ethan, unless you give me answers understood?”
“Like I said before I don’t know anything important.”
“I’m thinking you do Ethan.”

He pulled my wrist up and pulled on my thumb until it was fully extended. I looked forward as he took his knife and pressed it against the inside of my thumb. He pressed hard and then pulled out. I felt the blood running down my hand and off of my fingers. I yelled in pain. He chuckled. I opened my eyes, tears of pain started to build. He knelt by me, and shook his head in disappointment.

“I think your going to tell me now or your thumb is going in to a freezer.”
“Listen to me, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have nothing to tell.”
“Ok, I’ll refresh your mind. It was two days ago. You where in a bar, you met up with a female by the name of Trisha York. You guys had a couple of drinks, right? You talked about working together, to hunt down me. She told you where her hide out was. Where is it Ethan?”

“How do you know this?”
“That doesn’t matter, you need to tell me where she is.”

He knew everything that I did in that bar. But he couldn’t have been there too, people would have noticed.

“She’s hiding out in the city of Astra. Why do you need to know about her so bad?”
“She tried to kill me too, Ethan. So now I have to go kill her.

He went over to his desk as he said that and wiped of the blood-covered knife. He watched me with that stupid smirk of his. Then sort of cocked his head to the left as he put the knife down and picked up the Raven 6.

“Well, I guess I have what I needed, Ethan. Thank you very much. You can take him away.”
“Yes, Sir.”

The guard pulled me up in a standing stance and said, “Move it”. He wasn’t the best guard as he kept stumbling and I could tell he was nervous to have me in his care. He took me back to my cell but before he put me in there, he took the cuffs off of my right hand. I looked back as he was unlocking my other hand. I saw his Raven, he took the cuffs off and as he did this I grabbed his Raven. I spun behind him, he looked back. I lifted the gun to his face, I pulled the trigger and he fell in to the cell.

What did I just do, I’m not going to get out of here alive now. I looked to the left and two guards where pulling there guns out. I ran towards the right as I shot behind me towards the guards. I hit one, only in the leg. That will slow him down though. I got to the stairs, there was a guard he was pointing a gun right at me. I ran towards him, jumped in to the air, and landed behind him. I yanked his knife out and as I did that he turned. I slashed at his throat. I grabbed his gun. I now have two Raven 6’s and I need to get out of this prison.

Good story...too bad they didn't post in the fanfic columns...your story is way better than the crap i just read at the fanfic columns...

Your past and present tense is kinda messed up, along with some grammar and punctuation issues like almost every other fanfic here.

However, it really is quite good, save for the above mentioned errors. Looking foward to more.
