![]() | ..I trash this game forever. There's no point to play when you get called a lagger in 4 player games now is there? Sure as hell isn't. I've tried - Portforwarding - Porttriggering - Switching the line I connect to the internet from - Connecting directly without a router Firewalls off of course, not sure about virus scans but they're never running anyway. I spike when my brothers hog the connection but that isn't what I'm talking about. First of all, this "spike" shows up randomly and I can't hit anything yet can still here others ***** about "ZOMG LAGGER!!" last time it happened (today) I stuck it to them... They all died in quest on the final stage, called me a lagger shortly after, so I exited to the lobby. Not exactly going to try with annoying people like this, obviously I'm a lagger right? Gotta ruin their game. =P My other major annoyance in ping is with 6+ players, the old 999 to everyone but 4 other players. Almost as though my connections are being blocked or something, I dunno... and it's really annoying that it's now doing the same for 4 players as well. ISP Aliant.net Comtrend CT-301 ADSL Modem - Can't even contact them without having the owner of our internet line (mother) calling them. And she's too afraid and doesn't mind our crap connection, that we're paying extra for the "faster" speed that is the same as their slower one... Buncha bull. If no one responds with something new, I'll not even bother re-installing GunZ. |

| Gunzfactorian | Correct me if I'm wrong, but "spike" and "lag" are results of different conditions. Spiking is caused by your computer, while lagging is due to connection errors between you and the server. If you're just spiking badly, consider upgrading your computer... |

![]() | This computer runs GunZ constantly at the maximum framerate everything on high, I've never seen it slow down in framerate once. I didn't get this lag spiking (999 ping for 5+ seconds it seems now) in 4 player games on my old computer, and it was a complete piece of crap. |

| Super Moderator | As you stated above, it's your isp - usually a good idea to go with your first instinct. If you would, do a speedtest for me so I can further diagnose your connection problem (Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test) Thanks, and good luck ~Also, now that I look at it, would you post your system specs and OS? Thanks. |

![]() The server closest to me is really messed up and actually way slower than NY, so I'll use this one. Intel (R) CPUs, 1.6GHz each 1 GB RAM GPU: Moble Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset (Yeah it sucks but GunZ doesn't require to have the best graphics card anyway) OS: Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2 I DO believe it's my ISP though, I mean it does this on multiple games in their own way. I've noticed my connection actually failing to register anything on other games. Sure they've gotten laggier because of the company neglecting them, but seeing players completely freeze up? lololololol, no freaking way.

![]() | Maybe try a tracert to google or something and post the results back on here. start->run->cmd->type in "tracert google.com" I'm no pro at this stuff but maybe this will tell us whether or not its your isp and also give proof to your isp that theres something wrong with their network if you get high pings in the tracert or time out. Also, do you know what your advertised speed is? |

Also speed SHOULD be. DL: Minimum 2.0mbps, Max 5.0MBps UL: Up to around 768mbps (I believe) I have NEVER seen the speed jump above 1.65mbps (220~ KB/s), ever.

![]() Anyways, if your not ever recieving like 90% of your advertised speeds something is just wrong and really warrants for a call to your isp. If you can't phone them cuz of your mom, maybe try to contact them through email. Phone is still the best way to identify and fix the problem faster though.

![]() | I did mean kbps, lol dunno what happened thar. And the customer support is full of dodgers, I'd call them myself if they weren't all by-the-book and crap. They hung up on my brother for being under 19. |

A) Server is slow to reply with data. B) The connection to another player or players is delayed. "Spiking" in GunZ simply means a connection has frozen or dramatically slowed down for a short period of time, causing pings to rocket up. Anyway, I've already read the topic on GFAQs, and I don't know how to help you.
