Unhappy What is the best port for port-forwarding

Well I have a new ISP (British Telecom) and since NAGunz is closed i've gone back to IGunz. However I can log in and talk in lobby but when it comes to playing in a channel I will automatically get agent error and wont be able to fight anyone. The only time I see ppl is when they are laged and even then they have the lag sign on top of them.

I use a modem/router/hub device to connect to the internet, I have windows XP and McAfee Intenret security.

It's really annoying being in a channel on your own even knowing it says there are eight players in it.

Can someone help me with my problem or tell me whats the best port for portforwarding - the default in Igunz is 7700 - 7800 as portforward.

PS: I have no clue what port-forward does but I heard probably here when it was introduced that it makes gaming better I hope that works for me.

There's not really a best port, but here are a few recommendations:

1. Don't choose any ports below 1024, they're reservated for other known services.
2. Don't choose any ports that are known for being used by worms and spyware, as many Internet Service Providers block these.

Suggestion?, just a random range, 40490-40590.

Cheers.

Well for technical help why not post in the Tech Help section?

Try turning off your internet security (but don't browse the internet...)

Sorry i can't help you more...

Maybe you would get more technical help in the Tech Help section...

kool, well I was thinking of using p2p ports cause since the game is based upon p2p connection that is what I was thinking but then I dont trust those ports.

Damn this is really annoying especially since I know free channels are full of high levels that are asking to be pawned by my lower level character.

PS: I will do so in the tech threads

The 7700-7800 doesn't work for some reason when I host, I even portforwarded and I have dSL.
