| Gunzfactorian Postcount Legend | Okay so I will be in a game with normal 20-50 pings. 100 Fps. All of a sudden I will get fps lag for a few seconds. Ping's spike to 200+, fps drops to 2-4. I can not move but I can get shot as if I'm just standing there. Everyone notices it and make remarks; "your a bit spiky Desecration" "man you spike!" etc. I have defragged, disk cleanup, virus scan, etc. Most of the time when this happens a program on my task bar "wuauclt" or "LUCOMS~1.EXE" will pop up. When these are up I can notice screen lag and must alt+tab and close those programs to rid of my lag. Also I've ntoiced a pattern within these spikes. The night my friend stayed over my game ran smoothly(no spikes). The next day I got on and spiked a lot. The next day I didn't have any spikes. Some days I will spike for a few hours and after that I don't spike again. It's all at random times, I'm guessing. Any solutions? Is it my video card? Need more memory? Need to do soemtype of scan or something? I attached a replay of showing when I spike, if that helps. Last edited by Desecration; 08-27-2008 at 03:56 PM. |

Other times I get the spike and it's not open. I'll look it up. I did a search for it and found this: ![]() Last edited by Desecration; 08-27-2008 at 04:18 PM. | |

| Member | If it has to do with Windows Update, I suggest simply turning off Automatic Updates. If It's a problem with Norton, then there isn't much I can really say other than to uninstall it and try finding a different, ~Hopefully better~ program. And that's all the advice I can really give without knowing more. ~I skimmed through this threads posts~ Hope that helps though, good luck. Oh wait, a off-topic bit of advice concerning lag issues, if you haven't portforwarded Gunz, I suggest you do, It's TCP/UDP ports 7700 - 7800 Inbound/Outbound -DG |
