I've heard of people having trouble recording sound before, so that could be it. It would be helpful if you listed all your specs here, but at the moment all I could guess is that maybe your PC is having trouble showing you the captured footage smoothly. That is to say that what you've recorded is actually perfectly smooth and has a steady frame rate, but your PC's graphics card is unable to display it without lag due to the fact that both the video and audio are completely uncompressed. This obviously heavily depends on your computer specs, so it may not be a the problem at all. You're still getting no sound despite that, so it could very well be your sound card. I'd get the latest video and audio drivers.
