Ipod.........................

I have a 30gb ipod video and a 2gb nano and i cant get either one of them to sync they both charge when hooked up to my computer but they dont sync.
Dose anyone know how i can fix this?????????????

reset them and update itunes and ipod software

i understand that but its like itunes dosent recognize it not even the little ipod symbol pops up in itunes to symbolize that is connected all that happens is it charges
