| Gunzfactorian Patriot | I was playing gunz fine earlier in the day, half an hour later, I came to restart gunz and after clicking play live I got the following error. error.gif At the same time ZoneAlarm detected a virus in the ijji folder. zonealarm.gif Someone else had this problem with ZoneAlarm and posted on the ijji forums here: *README* Virus Found in C:\ijji - Page 2 - ijji Forums Someone also mentioned AVG detecting it, but they were able to ignore it and continue playing. Any help solving tihs would be appreciated. I'm hitting google now. EDIT: I can still play gunz but i have to disable zonealarm untill after the GunZ launcher loads. | Gunzfactorian Patriot | He over reacted, but it was stupid of me to post .psd image files. I think the most likely explanation is that its a case of mistaken identity. The Trojen that ZA claims to have found is assocciated with WoW, a game i've never even played, its ment to steal your account information. Also it definetly is ijji that is suplying the .dll file in question, and I do trust ijji not to supply me with mal-ware. I know this because after the file is quarenteened, if i click play live again the ijji installer re-downloads it. I can find no information that associates this trojen with anything other than WoW untill these problems with ijji. I also looked at how the trojen works and there doesn't seem to be any of the usual behaviour exibited by it. For example, it has not created files that the supposed trojen would normally create, nor has it changed registry entries. For now i'll to disable ZA untill GunZ loads, then I can restart it again with no further trouble. Anyone else who encounters this problem, I qouldn't worry too much about it atm. EDIT: The strangest thing just happened, even though i didn't disable ZA and it still detected and quaranteened the file I managed to launch the gunZ launcher succesfully. To my knowledge nothing has changed to cause this. Last edited by An Amateur; 05-05-2008 at 02:50 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian Patriot | How do you know this for sure? When you make such claims about something thats potentially damaging always provide your evidence, if only to cover your own back should you be wrong. I consider it irresponsible not to do so. Although I agree your probably right. |

| Gunzfactorian Patriot | Much mal-ware tries to maskerade as something legitimate. It's possible that something malicious was taking place and that it was not from ijji. That would explain why there are not more people experiencing the same problem. I'm not saying that is even likely in this case. I'm merly saying that simply declairing something safe like that is a little irresponcble IMO. |
