Router problem! Need help!

Okay, I just got a router for my brother. When we enter a game, everything is normal. But then when the round starts, we lag like CRAZY, and everyone else's ping jumps up, too. Does anyone know what the solution is? Please reply.

I have the same problem...
its really important
with my router im very lucky when i get about 200-300 ping
with the router I usually get at least 400
