Exe's going out of control

basicly wen i play gunz or any other game explorer+svchost spike up to around 30k's and take all my cpu%... they both are in the right folders and my AV is not picking up anything so ye im not sure what to do

Well you can end explorer.exe you do not need it when running Gunz.

Once finished playing gunz bring up task manager, file. new process type explorer.exe and your desktop and task bar will appear.

I think it is possible to end a certain number of svchost's but im not sure how many before your pc will restart.

But end explorer.exe

type shutdown -a in run

End them all except svchost.exe

1. FireFox doesn't need to stay open while you're playing gunz.

2. Play gunz or chat on MSN, if you don't chat on MSN you might as well close it.

3. Explorer.exe, enough said.

And, the one SVCHost that's the laggiest you can end too, but you'll lose all browser-connection. It handles something with port 80, and a few other ports that you need to browse online.

well i dont run mozilla/msn while playing gunz.. they just got in the way while taking the pic :P anyways i heard ur pc restarts if u close explorer?

It restarts if you close svchost.exe

Closing explorer.exe will just "close" your desktop, or so to say, buy you can start it again after you're done playing gunz. Click "New Task" and type explorer.exe

ok thx ill try they always seem to spike up together so if i close one the other one might calm down too.. i hope

well i was wrong.. svchost still lags alone

and my av isnt picking up anything >.<
