| Gunzfactorian Guardian | You don't need to be able to see in order to dream. How do YOU dream when you have your eyes closed while sleeping if you need to see to dream? While it is possible that they can still dream, they will only have the other senses in the dream since they won't be able to "imagine" a whole new sense. Imagine for a second that we were all "blind" in a way, and that there was a whole new sense that none of us has ever experienced before. Try to fathom what it would be like for a moment, right now. All you get are a combination or different forms of the same five senses that you know of already, right? Most likely, the same thing will apply to blind people. All they will get are dreams filled with a mix of the four senses they still have. |

| Gunzfactorian Veteran Hero | The thread has been existed before ![]() And actually, according to research done by Reader Digest and National Geographic (yes, those arent comic)blind peoples does dream. They dream as normal as we do, but all objects inside their paranormal dream shaped like what they imagined through touching or smelling. Maybe when they dream about ice cream (they were asked to tell of their shapes etc),their testimony is that was as cold (sorry..) poop with sweet taste. |

A blind man named Hung Shi asked a villager: "How is a sun look like? " Then he handed the blind man a frying pan: "He has a round shaped like this." The blind man touched it, smell it, and hit it several times. Then he left the guy. After a few steps, a chef from nearby restaurant hits his frying fan to attract customers. After hearing the noise,Hung Sui approached the chef. Then he took the pan then touched and smelled it. Finished, he asked the confused chef," Do you sell the sun inside your restaurant?"

| Gunzfactorian Veteran Hero | Ah, I remember the second part: After having lunch, Hung Sui returned home. On the way back, he still wondering about the sun. Then he asked a nearby richman. "How do you describe a sun?" The man replied: "It is as shinny as this gold. And also, its as hot as this candle." Then, he held both the gold and candle, analyze it as usual until he satisfied. Hung is about to return the items, but unfortunately, he slipped as he doing so. The candle burned his facial hair and his clothes! The richman tried to put out the flame, but unfortunately it roasted his skin. Feeling sorry for him, the kind rich man gave Hung his gold and took him to the doctor. The doctor is a bit surprise after seeing him a bit messy. "How came you be like this?" "Because I was curious what is the sun looks like" "And now do you know what is the sun looks like?" "Yes." Then he let the doctor saw his gold. "Once, my parent said that a gold is as bright and golden as the sun. I never knew what is bright and what is golden looks like since I never saw them. But if I want to imagine the sun now, I would say it was as golden and as bright as this gold. And the sun stings like a candle too!" (note: actually, the moral of the story is the gold that Hung holds. It means that knowing something you never know is no better than having someone that treat you well. In other words, the gold is the idiom of Nugget of Wisdom in Chinese) Last edited by Ashlyed; 05-11-2007 at 12:46 AM. |

Let me paraphrase it for you, so you don't have to read those oh-so-long five sentences. They would still dream, but the content of the dream would only include four of the five senses, since they could not imagine or even fathom sight.

| Gunzfactorian Veteran Hero | Maybe you should read the book itself. I kinda screwed up the grammar and the vocab of the story (it is hard translating Chinese to English, I tell you!) But oh well, like a old Chinese proverb say, Man's life is limited, but not Knowledge's life =p |
