![]() | When we call someone a noob we devalue them and their actions to cover our own emotional insecurities. It's a common example of how we have to clarify our response in every situation which involves an act that can relate to social status to prevent a social encounter which could lead to a loss of reputation. The root of the issue is that people often use Gunz to boost their ego and to gain community, rather than just playing to have fun, so it's convenient for them to adopt this type of behavior in order to achieve their goals. Agree? Disagree? |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | I think it's very de-moralizing to call someone a noob. Newb would technically a less "offensive" meaning that someone is still new to the game. I have stopped calling anybody a noob for the past 5 months, and it seems to have worked very well. Calling someone a noob can lead to more fights, and ego boosts, and meaner people. Noob is a word for noobs. Think about it. |
