| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Well this has made me curious since i learned about the butterfly effect. It mainly has to deal with weather though. The buttfly effect mainly states "one small change in weather this week can cause a much larger change next week".ie(the tempture of the poles rise by 2 degree's, but that increase in temperture was enough the melt an extra hundred pounds off ice making sea levels rise everywhere). Now lets take an example using humans. Lets say i start drinking 1 less soda everyday. Small change? yes. Lets say by drinking that one less soda a day i begin to lose some weight. Then eventually i get some abs and the chicks are all over me. I end up marrying a hot blonde who is just...stupid. That totally changed the path of my life besides still drinking the soda everyday, staying average weight and marrying some fat girl who is a good mother, cooks, cleans, and has a good work ethic. That just sent my life into a totally different direction. Even that example was absurd, and probally could never happen lets work from it. Now lets discuss the matter of the butterfly effect, or just how a small change can impact your life greatly. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Global warming will cause the weather this summer to be like 40 degrees C everyday. This will result to heat strokes and massive hydro bills due to air conditioning. Then I will not be able to skateboard because i'll just fall and die from the heat. =( What has this world come to? Btw you were one of the few people who +reped me when I joined gzf idk why but heres a +rep (After 24 hours) =) |

| Member | well... global warming is more of a massive scale than the butterfly effect mentioned at the top, since it's not just one person releasing the carbon dioxide and such. It's the whole world releasing a mass of carbon dioxide into the air, even if you stop driving cars, all the others will keep on driving their cars, burn forests, etc. releasing more CO2 into the air. you can feel like you did something to help the world, but you didn't do too much <_< in terms of global warming. However!~ the fact that you didn't drive the car could've saved someone's life who was supposed to get hit by the car you're driving but didn't~ and that person's children became an inventor who created mass-productive electric cars... which reduced the green-house effect.. etc. Ya.... butterfly effect is too complicated, and since it deals with the future and past, it's something that can't be discussed as of now, since we cannot control time, and see the butterfly effect in motion. Thus~ butterfly effect is just a theory... not a fact la. What a use of 4 minutes -.- |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | If GunZ disappeared, I would not have a life. Neither will anyone else that plays GunZ. The world's population would then decrease, thus making heaven overcrowded with legit players and making hell overcrowded with hackers. This would decrease the amount of future drivers which would prevent a higher chance of a car crashing into a nuclear powerplant that would cause "The Hills Have Eyes 3" to come out into theatres earlier than planned. The mutants would then take control over U.S. missles and launch them into Japan, thus, creating the next World War. Explosions would cause global warming to speed up rapidly, causing Al Gore's head to explode into thousands of pieces. I guess the butterfly effect is pretty interesting. |

![]() ![]() | You're talking about mathematical chaos: an initial small change resulting in what appears to be enormous, chaotic results, but still has an underlying order. Life your example, the butterfly effect (a butterfly flapping its wings in Mexico causes tornados in Kansas, or any number of other versions). Your example illustrates it well: a small change causing a more noticeable change which causes a more noticeable change which etc. |

| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Strange way of thinking how the world works, huh? You never know what hell you may cause for just littering? lol. But if the effect of something Small magnifying to a greater effect can exist; would a counter-example also exist? Such as something BIG have no impact on the world whatsoever. |
