| Super Moderator | What is it that describes life? Simply the people that surround you, or how you interpret those surroundings? Why does great joy come right before great pain? Why are we all doomed to spend our life here wandering these tasteless streets of mental insecurity? As if all we were for is some grand attraction for the gods to laugh about... It's quit humorous how these questions... about life and perception, all have their own perceptions... How they all mean different things to different people. It also questions many other things in life: such as if we're all created from nothing, then shouldn't there always be something we all have in common? Why are there wars... why is there hatred? We are all us. Collectively strong, singly weak. No man is an island... why then do we choose to stand on our towers of isolation waiting for someone to tie us in with the next person who comes by... I realize this is a bit Gothic and off tune from your normal thought provoking, insomnia inducing mellow dramatic bull****, but these questions bug me. Each one will have it's own meaning, and no one else will be able to answer for you. So, I guess in the grand scheme of things all coming from nothing does give us one thing in common: we have nothing in common. All our thoughts, ideas, and personalities are our own - although that could also be argued. Everything can be argued, even this very statement. Of course, there'd be no point to argue in a meaningless topic, so, does that mean there has to be meaning to have anger? To have hatred? Why then is there so much tension online? How can you be sure there is meaning to insults given online? How can you be sure there is meaning to happiness and love online? Is this where we use our superior powers of non-communication and perception to accurately predict what someone else's personality would be doing? Or is everything controlled in our psyche and we spend our whole lives looking for something that doesn't really exist? Of course, I'm not referring to someone on these forums when I write this, but I just find it all interesting, that even this, is my own perception. So really, could everything invariably be a perception of a perception in an endless loop? I've never been really good a philosophy, but it feels good to write this. |

/wrists - Kidding. I'm not stupid. I'd like to think we're here for something more, but I suppose that's human nature.

Humans have an valuable gift. To question. To ask "why". Our act of self sentience gives us a special attribute. Your ability to wonder and imagine gives you powers beyond comprehension. Your ability to question allows for us to gain knowledge.

| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Life is just what we interpret the situations around us as. All in all, similiar to what you stated, the "meaning" of anything is just how you interpret it yourself. I don't believe there is actually any TRUE meaning to life, just what we want to make true. So ultimately, if you believe enough in something, you have just found your own meaning for existing. It is something we must all find for ourselves. It's not just some random catagorized and filed thing that we lable as the "meaning of Life" |
