![]() | If you haven't heard, Don Imus (apparently a white comedic radio host) said "nappy headed" "jigaboo" "wannabe" and "hoe" while on his radio show. He is now being called a racist and a bigot, and recently had to apologize to Al Sharpton (wtf?) over saying those things, and endure Al's criticism. My opinion is that it is racial to call him a racist. There is a double standard on whites and blacks. For example, if a black radio host had said any of those things, he wouldn't be called a racist. Rappers criticize black women all the time, you never see Al Sharpton getting on their ass. to quote a bulletin i read recently (yes, i have to visit myspace from time to time =( Quote:
I don't look at color, I look at personality, how you hold yourself in society dictates how I treat you, if you want to act "hood" and mouthing off about shooting/shanking people to appear cool, we won't get along. If you are snobbish and look down on people or treat someone different based on anything other then how they act, we won't get along. Just getting the "OP is racist" thing out of the way. | Super Moderator | Halle Berry to go bald for movie Nappily Ever After (2008) Nappily Ever After - Rotten Tomatoes Basically, there's this movie titled "Nappily Ever After". If this talkshow host was clever enough, he could still squeeze his way through this nonsensical publicity by using the movie as a back up reference to his "joke". But God damn, from what I've heard of him (from him), he's **** out of luck. So one big "hahahaha" to that. Really sucks for him. Links from moviefone, btw. |

![]() | Lmao Jin I personally can't believe he agreed to apologize to Al Sharpton, or anyone in that respect. But especially Al Sharpton, who himself most would say is racist against whites. Larry Elder.com |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | He should have thought about what he was saying before he said it. Which brings me to that one moral, think before you leap, sir. He knew what he was getting himself into, he just thought he would be able to pull a fast one on the listeners. Well, guess what, Imus, you suck. |

![]() | Oh yes i'm serious, i'll post the links. White men can't say the same as black men because there is a double standard in society, the same applies to white advancement things, which is easily seen. (I am not a white supremist btw) The original thing YouTube - Don Imus and Nappy Headed Hos His meeting with Al Sharpton YouTube - Don Imus On Al Sharpton's Radio Show Quote:
Do they lose their jobs? No. Do they have to have a discussion with Al Sharpton about themselves being racist? No. If anything, they should have told him he was wrong for calling them nappy-headed hoes just because it's an insult. Not because it's a "racist remark". He still shouldn't have lost his job over it. Last edited by Rivenwolf; 04-14-2007 at 06:39 AM.

When it comes down to it, he should have kept his fat ass mouth shut in the first place, otherwise, we wouldn't be here arguing over what a hoe is. He called them out saying "nappy headed hoes". And you're telling me that it's not worth losing your job over? You could lose your life over that, and I'm not even going into other derogatory words. Not only did "they" tell him that he's wrong for it, the entire race of black people said he was wrong. O.k., I understand that sometimes us black people take things a tad bit too far and take things way too seriously, but still, out of respect for the women, black people, and the listeners of that show, he should have seriously watched what he was saying. I'm not that fired up about it, but it's still way too disrespectful for my taste.

I'm saying there was nothing racial about those words, and no the entire black race's spokesperson is not Al Sharpton, nor do they all share his opinion on this matter. Like waterbuster said, this stuff shouldn't (and wouldn't of) got all this media coverage (and wouldn't of if race wasn't thrown in). I'd be fine with him being fired for the insult, but he's being fired for "being a racist".
