Read before posting in Serious Discussion

Welcome to the Serious Discussion forum. You've found your way to our little section here at GunzFactor devoted to the, well, serious discussion of things. The SD (Serious Discussion) forum is here to provide a place for the members of GunzFactor to talk about issues without worry of spam, or off-topic posts. You can discuss virtually anything here, from Mathematics to Literature to why people behave the way they do. There are, however, several ground rules which, if you pleasantly follow, will make your SD visits all the more enjoyable. Most of these rules are common sense, and violation of them will result in an infraction for the first offense, a 1-day ban for the second, and further bans for further offenses.

Note:The SD forum is not for Gunz discussion. Virtually no Gunz-related topic belongs here. If you really think your topic does, go ahead, but it will probably be deleted. Gunz-related topics belong in The Garrison.

1) Respect other members

Yeah, this is a rule that applies to all of GunzFactor, but it will be enforced more strictly here. In SD, topics can come up that are a bit controversial, and people, being people, have widely varying opinions. If someone disagrees with you, fine. You're welcome to debate with them, as long as it's civil. Flaming of any sort will be absolutely intolerated. That includes (but is not limited to) racism, sexism, or prejudice of any sort (regardless of whether it is said jokingly). Also be sure to respect their opinions and what they have to say. Don't want to read their "wall of text?" No one said you had to post here, go to the spam section, I'm sure that's paragraph-free.

2) No spamming

At all. None. If you feel the unquenchable desire to post something useless, go post it elsewhere. This forum is here for a purpose, and spamming it is disrespectful to those who are here to enjoy it. Expect the same punishments as any other offense for intentionally spamming here.

3) Be serious

For the most part, anyway. What I mean is, don't laugh at peoples' ideas, and take the ideas and questions others put forth seriously. However, feel free to laugh and have fun, this is not a crypt.

4) Take these rules with a grain of salt.

These are rules, yes, but they are not a binding contract. Doing something that is clearly not okay, but is not explicitly listed in the rules, in no way protects you from punishment. These rules are here to let you know how things work, not every possible thing that you are not able to do.


In summary:

It's quite simple. Act smart, be respectful and courteous, and if you aren't sure if something you want to post is okay, PM me or another staff member and ask first. This forum is a great place and has a lot of awesome discussion. Just don't abuse it. Thanks for taking the time to read this, don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions.
