| Gunzfactorian Hero | Well, I just started a critical thinking class. For the first assignment, we had to read an entry from a Newspaper about divorce, whether or not it's too simple to achieve. My own thoughts on the subject... I think that it's not that divorce is too easy, it's that marriage is too simple to get into. People marry for all the wrong reasons, whether the reason being, financial stability, lust, or even for security. And that they don't do it for the right reasons? Could it possibly be that if it costed more, or you had to do more to get married, (IE. marriage classes, stuff like that) that people would think twice before getting married? And that could possibly decrease the number of divorces each year? Or could it also be, that because divorce is so common now, that it's socially acceptable? "Until death do us part" - what a lie. Meh, post your thoughts on the subject. I'm tired, but I needed to get this off of my head so I'd be able to sleep. Last edited by Admiral HML; 03-29-2007 at 03:13 AM. |

![]() | My parents are actually still together, but I often find myself wishing they weren't. My dad has a military personality (as in one way or no way), and seriosuly thinks that everyone is wrong, and he's always right. Along side, he happens to be an alcoholic, and basically always has a short fuse. Now that I just exposed my personal life, lets continue. Whenever my dad drinks to get wasted, he becomes a complete ass... Not just to me, but oto my mom as well. Basically I see this grounds for a divorce because it is apparent that despite efforts, nothing will change my dad. It seems that the younger the couple the more of the chance of a divorce. Not only is it an increase in divorce, but divorce over stupid **** that could have been resolved over a disscussion. On the other side, there are thousands of familys that have the same situation as me, or worst. Thus, I think when it boils down the divorces equal out from 'easy' to 'logical'. |
