| Gunzfactorian Hero | Who here besides me is a lucid dreamer? If you don't know what a lucid dream/lucid dreamer is, Wikipedia it, it's not hard lol. I really don't visit this sub-forum much because: A. People think they can disprove a certain religion/ideology B. People try to disprove already concrete proof C. People try to criticize pointless things (I.E: Homosexuality, Religion, Politicians, etc) I digress however, that's not what this is about. Here are the things I can and cannot do while dreaming: Can: 1. Slow down time (Depends on circumstance) 2. Jump to incredible heights at will (If I jump too high, I break my focus and exit the dream) 3. Fly 4. Wake up at any point 5. Render myself immune to all pain 6. Relapse into a dream i've encountered before, and change its own outcome again and again as I see fit 7. Fall in love with anyone I please (Brain Glitch Experience) 8. Open door with nonsenical items (I.E: Fishes, or fruits. Brain Glitch Experience) 9. Concentrate hard enough that I can extend my dreamstate for several more minutes (This is very hard to do though, as if I mess up, i'll wake up and not be able to fall back asleep) 10. Use magic (I.E: Summoning fireballs, etc. Note that this does not work all the time, and sometimes won't work when I need it the most) 11. "Continue" dreams (Meaning, I can dream a situation where i've seen someone/something before, and they will remember the events that i've done to them/enviroment etc in a previous dream. Great for the occasional romantic dreams XD) Cannot: 1. Remove myself from a "Head-down" dream (By Head-down, I mean a dream in which your view is focused square on the floor, and in no way can I look up at any point. I can also not jump, and if I try to look up, i'll trip myself and fall to the floor) 2. Manipulate the enviroment in anyway (I can't push things such as sofa's, chairs, etc. I can't take anything that's on a wall, etc) 3. Make people in my dreams do as I please (The people in my dreams usually have minds of their owns, and sometimes depends on the outcome that I have done before) 4. I can in no way fully kill something. (Trust me, i've experimented with decapitations and severing several limbs before, they always manage to still come after me XD) 5. Alter sounds in anyway (I can't make a noise louder or smaller, etc.) 6. Dream for any period longer then 15 "dream minutes" at a time. 7. Alter "Black Dreams" (Dreams where it's simply black, and you wake up) 8. If I am purely in a "Falling" dream, I cannot stop myself at any point, and must either break from the dream altogether, or wait until the end. 9. Remove any "fuzziness" or "haziness" in my dreams (I get a lot of dreams where things are fuzzy or hazy, and are in the off-chance distorted) 10. Have any person inside my dream touch me (It is impossible for them to touch me unless it is a nightmare) however, I can still touch them. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | How are you able to remember that much detail? Usually, I know that I dreamt something during the night, but I don't remember exactly what I dreamt in the morning. However, if I wake up DURING a dream, I can remember what I dreamt. Oh yeah, I remember that I could jump off a roof and completely change the landscape I was in. I could ALWAYS outrun and outsmart something if it is chasing me. Unfortunately, I can't always have sexual dreams and such, therefore, not being able to have wet dreams anytime I want. |

An easy way to do it is to keep a dream journal. Every time before you go to sleep, say "when I dream, I will wake." Say that several times over, training your mind into it for that night. When you wake(you will), write down what you remember about the dream. Then the day after, review the what you wrote in the book and try to remember everything you dreamed. Try to remember everything. Rinse, repeat for about three months. The reason behind doing this is such: It trains your mind to become aware that what your dreaming as actually a dream, and that you can control it. Ive gotten it down to the point where I can control and affect everything around me, but I can only see the world in third-person, or a run really, really slow.

Once or twice this has happened to me, and I tried to convince some people in my dream it was just a dream and it went all trippy and I woke up. But before that, of course, I acted as if it was the last day of the world and I could get away with everything! Oh the humanity!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I had a dream of being able to have the flight ability - WITHOUT realizing it was a dream; as if I had been able to fly all these while. That was a different story, but on a different dream, on an attempt to identify whether it is a dream or not, I tried following one of the pointers - whereby of trying to read something. In the dream world, it is quite impossible to read letters and numbers unless you're totally focused (read that somewhere few years back), and it was true. I picked up a paper and tried to read it, but I can't. And so it came to my mind that "Oh hey! I'm in a dream worl-" Snap. I woke up. F***. I guess that is too much focus upon that triggers the waking up part. Maybe the trick is that 'once you realized its a dream, deny it totally, and just blend in the dream, while keeping in mind that you can control everything here.' |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Personally one of the interesting things I experienced was on occassion actually realising, "Hey I'm dreaming/This is just a dream" and I didn't exactly 'wake up' for awhile and yet remained fairly concious, however, trying to not get involved in thoughts that are occurring randomly, but rather observing everything as impartial as I can from the thoughts that arise (i.e just letting the thoughts that arise come and go) to what is occurring in the dream (For instance, sometimes a fleeting thought might end up manifesting in some way in the dream). Though eventually I'd sort of have slowly 'transversed' back into a wakeful state just openning my eyes (in somecases with eyes already open, maybe I slept with my eyes open at times? ) and then at times glacing around and thinking "Mmm awake *checks time*. " or just taking a breath and getting up to go for the day. (Instead of going through something like, "Sleep -> Dream -> Twilight state inbetween sleeping/waking -> Then waking up in 'body'. " ) Mmm yet feeling as though I actually didn't sleep at all, but still refreshed as I would be. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | What I really hate... It normally happens to me when I'm really hungover, or extremely tired. I'll wake up really thirsty, but fall back asleep, and dream I got a drink, but wake up thirsty again, roll around a bit, and have a drink, and then wake up later, and need another drink but I'm too ****ed to get out of bed but then I'll dream I'm no longer thirsty. It just goes on, and on. Or I need to get out at a certain time, I'll dream I'm checking the time and its not time yet. And I keep dreaming I've checked the time, and suddenly I actually wake up and check the time and I'm late. |

| Gunzfactorian Hero | What I hate is having a dream inside of a dream, inside of a dream. A dream three times over. It's really REALLY annoying for me -_-;; "-wakes up- Wow, that was a weird dream, good thing...-looks around-...Hey...wake a minute...-pops out of that dream- Hmm..odd, I swear.....-sighs-" |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Its...... smart ass time *combs my fro and puts on a pair of lenseless reading glasses) Yesh yesh, quite right sir. I do believe that your mind has somewhat of a self personality assignment to the idividuals in ones dreams, such assignment usually is based on the individuals perception of the character, whether he or she be fictional or not. This causes a slight artificially intelligence associated which the character beeing dreamed about, thus all interaction with such a character will usually be realistic ones without the dreamer having to conciously control it. Myess myess, quite right I must say, fancy a butchers? XD, jussss messin. My guess is kinda like my smart ass, british alter ego was trying to tell you. You subconsiously assign personalities to the people around you and all ya interaction wit em will be based of the personalities. Its kinda strange, sometimes I'm arguing with my dreamed up character (NO BISH E-STYLE IS A STYLE, DAI NOW!!!). For me, I can fight myself awake at any given moment, which is real handy when some fool is about to cut ma fking head off @_@. I can manage to kill someone, it just has to be thorough, ever tried burning XD? I got headshotted in ma dream once.... da it was a bish. I can break stuff, and am ALWAYS immune to pain for some reason. You think lucid dreamers may have similar limitations and stuff? I mean it would be worth studying for some smart ass points. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | One time, I didn't really know I was dreaming. Then I felt that I really needed to use the restroom (in my dream). I was in my house and the restroom was right next to the bedroom where I sleep. For some strange reason, it took me about a minute to "run" to the bathroom. So when I got to the toilet, I started pissing in the toilet standing up. It felt soooooooooo good and I was like "Ahhhhhhh..." After finished, I suddenly woke up out of my dream and fortunately, I did NOT piss in my pants. WTF IS THAT. But I still had to use the restroom irl. Heh. |
