| Gunzfactorian | I don't know if this has been posted yet (I'm also unsure if this is in the right catagory), but on the news there was talk of a sequel to Y2K in the year 2007. As some of you may know, daylight savings time is too start a month earlier I believe. Experts say that computers may not be able to comprehend and this may cause a stronger Y2K virus. For those that don't know, Y2K is a virus that struck when it was New Years Eve 1999/2000 (I think). But that is another story. To stop it, experts also say we'll have to change the time of the computers manually. /Discuss |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Honestly sound like a bunch of dribble. "Daylight savings will crash the computer". It doesn't matter if your computer thinks it is the year 1860, heck mine thinks it's still in 2002 just because I'm strange like that. Quote:

| Gunzfactorian | You have a point, but time have a lot to do with computers. Some won't run certain programs without a correct time. In my opinion, I think it's the older computers that it might affect, but the original Y2K affected more than computers. It'll definately effect (if they are right mind you) computers with a pre-set daylight savings time. EDIT: Sorry if that didnt make sense, I didnt see you added the quote to your post. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | The Y2K bug got blown out of proportion the first time because people didn't know what to expect, heck the majority of us (Including myself) were packing weeks worth of food preparing for the worst. Since then a lot has been done to make sure such a thing would never occur again and this sounds to me, and I may be wrong, a mere program related issue. | Gunzfactorian Soldier | Y2K never existed. It was a huge scare to think computers would change to some time making them go "OH no we weren't made now, shutdown." and crash. As for the daylight savings time, your computer will be 1 hour behind for a week... poor computer... so sad... >.> ZOMG because it's an hour behind it will crash! No... I have my computer upstairs set 1 hour ahead, honestly the idea of this "New Y2K" is ridiculous. |

| Gunzfactorian | As do I. It was probably a slow news day and they were looking for anything, no matter how unlikely it seemed. Then again, there are people talking about how it's not another Y2K but simply a small bug. I just report as I hear these things. |
